The same way man survived before the polio vaccine or small pox vaccine etc. Some didn't or they did and suffered greatly until medicine found a way to help them. Because now medicine has a way to help these people doesn't mean because the human race was OK before that the women don't deserve to have the best medicine to control their conditions. By the way the severity of menstrual cramps differ with different women. Some women experience things far beyond what is normal, and it is almost impossible to carry on normal daily functions with them. Pretending it isn't serious for those women just reflects poorly on you
I have been married for 11 years. The idea that free hormonal birth control is a right is just stupid - like liberals.
I don't care that you've been married. You don't have the medical background to make judgements about what women need or are entitled to. You obviously haven't lived with women that require it. You also don't understand what anyone is claiming in this case. It isn't that it's a right that all women are entitled to (though it should be) it's just that insurance should cover it. Please keep up the operating procedure of hurling pointless insults every post you make. It's hilarious.
Insurance does cover it, if you buy insurance that covers it. Fluke could have bought different insurance, gone to a different school, or bought her own BC. I can read what women are claiming: "i'm retaining water like crazy and just feel blah and gross. sex just loses its luster." Well that solves that. Free hormonal birth control for everyone!
Why do you save your criticism for Rush? How about other comedians and rappers who are far more vile on a pretty constant basis... as compared to Rush's occasional lapse....
Do I need to remind you it is entertainment... it's not reality. He says stuff to draw ratings. You are allowed to be judgmental-- no one can really stop you. Many here are crucifying a man for a few minutes of tacky remarks. You want his career to end in a trainwreck yet look at all the other entertainers who are worse on a constant basis that get a pass from your side.
I'm only making the point that birth control serves many functions. It's hilarious that morons like Rush bray about BC being something solely needed by "sluts" - it is used to treat a variety of maladies, reduces risk for certain cancers, and regulates hormones. whether or not people like rush agree or not, it IS modern medicine for women. I don't see his little blue pill saving lives. BC is an amazing invention and only good can come from making it more widely available.
Fluke had other options. Or you could also demand the FDA to not restrict access and require a prescription for it. I did see Primatene Mist saving lives. But that was taken off the shelves and out of the market because the government claims the life-saving inhalant was "destroying the ozone"
Rush isn't a comedian. He wasn't trying to be funny. Comedians usually pick on public figures, and it's a joke. However if the jokes are purely sexist and ignorant I'll say something about them as well. Rappers that are sexist usually don't get any support from me either unless it's so over the top that it's ridiculous and makes them look like clowns. Then I like it in a spiteful kind of way. Rush who has the power of a radio show, influenced listeners, and is so powerful that others feel they have to apologize to him when they've criticized him in the past decided to pick on a private citizen. He deserves whatever consequences come from those actions. I understand that you prefer to just let things slide rather than hold someone accountable. That's your decision.
A woman lost her ovary because the school denied her birth control. You don't have the facts at all. Also I need more insults from your post. This one was lacking.
Not true. She chose that school and that insurance plan. The school mandates you have insurance (that's their right I guess), but it doesn't mandate that you use their plan. You are not also mandated to attend that school. Some schools have no insurance plans. They aer not to blame for the medical conditions for all the students enrolled in them.
Birth control isn't just about sex or the health of the user. It's widespread institution (as well as the institution of legal and safe abortions) has correlated with a lower crime rate. Would you rather have a government mandate for insurance companies (not you!) to pay for birth control, or pay (you!) for all of the costs associated with a significant increase in crime? Also, although I doubt you righties are in line with Malthusian thought, easy access to birth control helps immensely with keeping the population at a reasonable number for the sake of sustainability.
sure, just take that one line and act like that was all i was saying. i'm reminded why i don't like debating abortion or birth control with people who can't understand, because they'll NEVER BE PREGNANT OR ON BIRTH CONTROL.
birth control dramatically DECREASES the need for abortions! I don't know how thr right isn't throwing the pill out in the streets!
Their plan covered birth control for people with medical conditions that required it. The school told the student she was lying and wouldn't cover it. The school was wrong, and the girl lost an ovary. Those are facts. I understand why you'd like to ignore them.
get an annual prescription and the generic version for less than 10 bucks a month. and cut costs elsewhere.
If you could calculate how much this program costs compared to the total budget would it be like .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% ? Man they are good at keeping attention on **** that's not important.
