If Minnesota wins tonight we are back to the 9th seed... We must make a move to save our playoff chances

Watching the Knicks tonight, Id say two lotto picks. How many more can we get for Martin, Scola, etc.

Let's not make the playoffs. The 14th pick has our name on it anyways.

The way this rockets team is playing, don't count out getting as high as 9th. Which is the same spot that Chicago won the 2008 lottery to get D Rose.

9th place - it's where the Rockets belong.

as long as they don't suck at home... only on the road... they are around 9th, 10th place for a long time.

I'm always opposed to tanking, but if we were going to do so, it's too late this season.

Id say you are still wrong. There is no such thing as tanking... you think their is, but all the front office can do is shed as many older players with big contracts off their roster as they can, and develop their young talent. The Rockets only have 3 "veteran" players on their roster, and two of those guys were traded in December. Id say that looks like a tank job to me from the front office.

Then what about the coach???... Id say hiring an analyst from NBATV and letting go of a HOF coach is another way to tank from a front office perspective.

Then what about the players???... are they supposed to kick the ball out of bounds for the fans so they can get a draft pick next year??? Hell no, those guys are playing for their 2nd contract where they stand to make millions. You cant just tell those guys to stop working so hard. Same with the coach.

The problem is overachievement, and drafting too well from the 2nd round and late 1st round. Those players have been too good and have worked too hard.

So NO, Im not going to say you are right... because you are wrong.

I am not at all happy with 9th place, that will get us nowhere, I want last place and the first draft choice.

You tank, for example, by not signing Dalembert and just throwing Thabeet out there. This is a strategy to showcase Thabeet with the hope that he shows something and you can then net a better return than just cutting him loose.

For example, let's say Thabeet plays decently and this enables you to get Howard or Gasol (obviously with other pieces) because the other team sees at least something of value there.

You have to build through the draft and trades because NO ONE is signing here.

You're right about the overachieving and Morey knows it but he is being told to slap a bandaid on the problem rather than biting the bullet and doing what is necesssary.

Tanking is for losers. Play hard and lose royally. That's just me.
