Our reality is Dalembert is way too soft and Kevin Martin is very inconsistent.

I can concur, but if you were coach/gm what would you do to fix it?

I don't see that we got a choice no matter what we'll do with the lineup. We aren't going to be able to make a trade that makes us an instant contender this year, and we're not going to tank on purpose.

We still have a shot at making the playoffs. We lost some very close games the last few nights, and we ran into a fresh Toronto team that took advantage. I think if we make the playoffs, we can be dangerous to a team like OKC, Memphis or even the Clippers.

do you think this could mean trading away scola and martin, both older veterans? In that case, they could stockpile picks/ people and open up time for morris, twill, and even bud.

what about we don't have enough talent..... not even a couple of borderline allstars..... not to speak of star level talent.... nobody close.

I would have to disagree with the second statement. If we do make the playoffs, who will step up to play? The thing about Memphis as the 8th seed last year is that they had very good post players and defensive wings. Our defense is week at SG and PF and our center is a role player. I do not see us having much success as a playoff team; I feel like Lowry has already peaked in his ability, which he has good ability but not great ability.

In the BS report interview Morey seemed pretty set on "changing the game" as far as rebuilding goes. I don't see us just turning on tanking now, why would we decided half way through the season? And if we did taking games to OT seems like a very painful way to tank...

so do you think we should trade away veterans, tank, be a 6-10 seed, or what? Although I do feel like Lowry is close to being a borderline allstar, which is an improvement... maybe next year he can cross the threshold.

I also feel like Chandler Parsons has a lot of untapped talent, as a 6'10 small forward, he is big and he is a good slasher and has shown finishing potential. He also is good on the defensive end and can become an Iggy type player if he learns how to shoot better (36% free throws lol).

Don't worry about it bro. Just next time, say what the thread is about, and don't just generalize the title so much.

    1) Kevin Martin needs to be traded: McHale has proven that he does not care about Martin's scoring power, and his offense (which seems to just be a messy series of pick-and-rolls or post-ups) doesn't utilize his skills. He has been sitting out much longer than he had in the past (was avg'ing 33mpg previously), and looks disengaged when he's on the court. What hurts is that his lack of playing time and ineffectiveness when he's on the court makes his value low, although advanced scouts tend to see through stuff like that; his effectiveness seems to be more system-related than age or injury related. Hopefully, we can net a big to replace him who is more of a 2-way player.

    2) Budinger needs to be traded: largely similar to Martin - doesn't fit in with this team's new direction, his PT reflects that.

    3) We need to trade for at least one player who can score in isolation, on the block or on the perimeter. Our relatively direction-less offense is in dire need of a guy who can score on his own when we can't get a good look otherwise.

    4) We need to trade for another active rebounder who isn't looking for his own shot a lot, who can come off the bench. Taj Gibson, Amir Johnson, Jason Thompson, JJ Hickson and Hakim Warrick all fit the bill for what we need. Patterson is nice, but he needs a buddy out there helping him rebound the ball. Jordan Hill should be that guy, but he's not, so we need to move on.

Lowry is but... this team needs scoring and player playing above the rim and not jumpshooting bigs.... Lowry can't provide shooting and scoring on a consistent basis.

    Chandler can't shoot.... well I give him a break....he is a rookie
I am not impressed with Bud's, Twill's shooting.....

Of course if you can't trade away the mediocre assets that we amassed then sell them for picks.... the only way.

    1) I agree with Martin, but who could we trade him to?

    2) Kinda humorous but who would take Budinger in a trade? his value has dropped and his contract is very low. I think his DNP-CD's will continue after the trade deadline.

3)Do you think Gasol would be this go-to guy?

    4) Unfortunately, I disagree with replacing Jordan Hill because I was enlightened previously on the Rockets rebounding stats with Hill and rebounding stats without Hill, and it showed a lot about his affect on the boards.
