    Order in place. Decided to not go with the 4G since I can find other tethering options (especially if I get a newer phone later this year). Looking forward to it. Apple really put together a hell of a combination in features. Guess it works out that this will be when I decide to try and iPad.

    I'm debating on whether or not I should sell my iPad 2 and get the new one. I use my iPad on a daily basis for multiple things, so the upgrade would definitely be nice.

    it's truly crazy what these carriers are doing in terms of data packages.

    even after fulfilling your 2 year contract..you're still bound to keep a data plan on your account. what's the point? i have used 100mb or less of data per month..yet i pay for a data package. 95% of the time, i am using wifi.

    Wi-Fi + 4G for AT&T model:
    • LTE (700, 2100 MHz);
    • UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz);
    • GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)

    Wi-Fi + 4G for Verizon model:
    • LTE (700 MHz);
    • CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz);
    • UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz);
    • GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)

    seems like the verizon one has cdma + GSM + LTE. more useful for the world traveling folks..

    I just can't get over the lack of a dedicated Back button. I use my mom's iPad all the time, and it annoys the hell out of my privileged ass.

    It would be the same, unless you need that CDMA coverage here in the states. The 700mhz band that Verizon LTE uses is incompatible with almost all LTE networks out there. However, in terms of 3g they are both the same and have global capabilities :)

    What data packages are you referring to? On the iPad2 with Verizon, you just pay month to month for 3G service. I only activate my 3G in months where I'm traveling and want easy access to email. Did they change to long-term contracts on The New iPad for LTE?

    I bought it at microcenter and then realized that I had paid 389.00 for with tax and all. Online its 399 with free shipping. Needless to say, I took it back. I dont really see myself needing it.

    It truly is insane. That's one reason why I can't leave Sprint. Unlimited data!

    Although Verizon's 4g MiFi is INSANELY faster than anything Sprint offers.

    I've also seen some Android/Google pundits also claim they still much prefer the iPad over Android when it comes to tablets. I'm surprised there's this overwhelming preference.

    Now the question is to get an iPad2 refurb for $350 or just go for the new one? I'm going to see if I can compare the 2 in person and see how the new screen compares.

    I'd prefer a transformer prime even with the GPS issues. wi-fi ipads don't have gps. Also I like the fact the prime can play my multimedia files w/o having to convert them. I have a lot of 1080p mkvs that I put on my laptop and take to my parents house for them to watch and having a tablet that can play those with an already built in HDMI out is a huge plus for me.

    I"m not that big into games or photography so the retina display while very very nice isn't high on the priority list. It's mostly media, WWF, and surfing the web for me. I'm also not down with the 4:3 screen since videos look smaller on that.

    But of course this is my preference. Other people will have different needs. It's just a matter of evaluating yours and getting the right device to meet them.

    Exactly :)
    The Transformer Prime would be my 2nd choice for sure, but I'd wait for the newer models that they had at CES to come out instead of the original version.

    Pre-ordered a 32 GB 4G LTE iPad for my S.O., and should get it on the 16th. I might get myself a basic Wifi version after I check hers out. Looking forward to it!
