    Melo can be very effective off the ball as was proven on Team USA. Surrounded by players he knows are better than him, Melo will cut, catch-and-shoot and slash to get open. He chooses not to on an NBA team because he won't adjust his mentality. He won't trust "inferior" teammates to create for him on a regular basis, maybe because of pride. If he won't sacrifice his game for a creative PG, that puts him squarely where his haters have been saying: He's not a winner.

    Aside from his playing style, to me, he proved that his highest priority was not winning the minute he demanded to leave Denver to go to New York. Denver had a good team. He could have contended with them much better than with New York. Or he at least could have demanded to go to a better winning environment.
