Is Kyle turning into Aaron Brooks?

Just watching Kyle lately, I'm beginning to see some of AB's poor defensive habits.

    * Remember when Kyle would come in and play lock down D on the point guards. Not anymore, PG's are getting around him with ease causing the defense to collapse and get burned
    * Falls on the floor looking for a foul and doesn't hustle back on D while arguing with the ref. We barely can play 5 on 5 let alone 4 on 5 defense.
    * And my favorite, he's beginning to stick to screens like glue. Choose an option go over or under the screen
    * Crazy passes thrown at people's feet
    * Offense disappears for streches of the game, I guess this is a team issue in the 2nd and late 4th Quarters.

    Have we overpaid for Kyle?

However, I love that spin move off the left baseline back to the middle.

    Get it together (GIT)!

His defense has gotten worse because he is using all of his energy on offense doing that spin move :)

And he is the best non rookie contract in basketball, no way is he overpaid.

Kyle is getting burned a lot this year but I almost wonder if that's by design????
He hedges players toward the baseline or toward the help defense.
The problem is that our bigs don't seem to be on the same page.

I've seen Kyle shut the same people who burn him all game long in the last few moments of the game though. So I think that it is very situational.

He was never a lockdown defender. Good, but not lockdown.
The crying for fouls does get old.
Agree, he used to be a terrific screen fighter, not so much anymore.
Don't agree, still a solid facilitator
    Everyone dissapears because teams adjust.

    Definately not overpaid.

The problem is he got overhyped by our fan base and reality is setting in.

Overpaid? Are you serious? Lowry is a bargain.

This isn't even a knock on Kyle, but (in my view) where there are similarities to Aaron Brooks is that we as fans collectively have overvalued him. Some started to make the case Lowry was a superstar and others that he was untouchable. That poll at an initial 60% against trading Lowry for Deron Williams just ... well, just makes me laugh.

It's a 66 game season, shorter in actual games played, shorter in the length of time during the year but it is super condensed games each week. Our guys are playing more back to back games than ever- so for Kyle who's the center piece for this team, who's been hustling- just give him a break.

No. Teams know how to play him now. They know he can shoot, and they know he likes to drive it in when the shot's not there (he has no mid range game). All it takes is to scout the Rockets 1-2 times (or playing them once) to know how to stop them.

The other teams scouting report looks like this:

PG: Play Lowry tight, don't let him shoot.
SG: Play Martin tight, force him to drive or pass. Watch for his head fakes, don't foul him unless you can get away with it in the paint.
SF: Lulz, just get a hand in Parson's face. Always foul him if he gets an open lane.
PF: Stay on your feet. Do not fall for any of his pump/head fakes. Wait for him to shoot and keep your hands up. Wait for the ball to leave his hands before leaving your feet! Otherwise stay in front of him.
C: Collapse on LOWRY and Martin when they drive to the basket. If any of their centers are out 10 feet or more, stand halfway between him and the rim.

We desperately need a player who is part of everyone's defensive assignment, and who can force double teams.

I feel like Kyle isn't quick enough to get in front of most pg's in the league, so he kinda forces them baseline, which is the right play honestly, Thibs and Chicago uses this strategy to perfection. Too bad our bigs are pretty late help defenders and doesn't hedge properly

I don't like it when he settles for too much threes and gradually being too cautious taking it strong to the paint. I wish he'd play a lot more like Ty Lawson.

Players stop driving it in when they get fouled or there is contact, and the officials don't call it. It's called T-Mac syndrome.

T-Mac fell inlove with jumpers because of a bum back and a ton of injury issues.

Can't tell if serious. In my opinion, I wouldn't mind trading anyone on the team if it helps us get better.I do however like our point guards, and I'm starting to enjoy Courtney Lee.

Check. Check. Check. Check. Check. and Check. Trade Kyle Lowry. Overpaid, overrated, overweight, overhyped. Get rid of this guy ASAP. ;)

2 things that we all should agree on

    1. Kyle Lowry is not overpaid in anyway.
