I'm one of the biggest android fans and I'll still say go with an ipad if price isn't a concern. Android tablets just aren't up to task compared to their phone counterparts.
+++1 it's stupid crazy how strong apple is in the tablet market despite me not owning any Apple products since the original iPod, I will buy this product if: 1. quadcore 2. higher resolution than 1024×768 3. equal or better battery life than previous generation
I'm getting my S.O. one when they come out. Trying to decide about getting an iPad 3 for myself. Might get her's with 4G/LTE and more menory, and get myself the cheapest wifi model. I've was waiting for an iPhone 5 with a bigger screen. Still waiting! The new iPad looks to be a real trip. I'll finally have something I can comfortably use relaxing in bed without awkwardly dealing with having to have a damn tray for a laptop. With a very bad back, that's a big deal to me.
You guys already know I love Android but I don't like Android tablets all that much because of the applications. Sure, I can side load anything I want but I hate how apps will just scale up to the resolution of the screen and are not optimized for it. That's the only thing I see as a notable problem IMO. If that doesn't bother you, then by all means go get yourself a nice Android tablet Only thing I'm not looking forward to is more people using up the Verizon 4GLTE network on these new iPads.
Wellp, the biggest feature and improvement out of this thing has to be the display. Real nice to have 264ppi on a device that big.
is the resolution on the new ipad overkill? Will you really see the difference? It's not the same thing as all the TV people saying you don't need 1080p on a 24" TV? Quad core processor is interesting. They are boasting performance much better than the Tegra 3.
I would say LTE and the A5X. I'm really curious to see how that performs in comparison to a Tegra 3 device.
It is different when you are holding a tablet a few inches from your eyes and a TV which is a few feet away. That is why 300 ppi is "retina display" for an iPhone 10 inches away from your face and 265 ppi is for an iPad 15 inches away. Personally, I think retina display is all marketing hype. My Acer Liquid which released months before the iPhone 4 had a display which I could never see pixels on (3.5" WVGA, roughly 267ppi)

Talking about a lot of software features now. I figure those will just be included in the next iOS update. *yawn*
