Didn't see this anywhere, and heard it from a friend, but the OKC radio was talking about hearing rumors of Lowry/Scola for Harden/Ibaka. Again, take this with a grain of salt as I have no proof/link and it was just hearsay. And the OKC radio hosts suck anyway. I just couldn't see OKC doing this (especially with Westbrick).
Would have to be one of the worst trades in recent history. Harden and Ibaka have incredible upside and even right now are way ahead of Scola/Lowry. Plus that'd mean they'd have no good SG, I can't imagine them playin Westbrook at SG just to play Lowry. It doesn't even make sense salary-wise and would mess up all their playoff hopes. OKC Radio guy must've been high or lost a bet.
I was up there for 4 years, and they are pretty terrible. They have nothing to talk about but OU, OSU, and OKC all day. And America's Team, of course.
Rockets trade- Martin, Dalembert, Bud, minny 2nd rd pick Get- Turner, Jordan Sixers trade- Young, Turner Get- Martin, Foye, Cook Clippers trade- Jordan, Foye, Cook Get- Dalembert, Young, Bud, minny 2nd rd pick Rockets- Moving Martin allows us to see if Lee can be our starter. Maybe Turner can turn it around here with more pt. Jordan is still raw offensively, but he's young and not injury prone. Maybe McHale can help him maximize his potential. He also might be able to sell more tickets since Houston is his hometown. Sixers- They need offense badly. Iggy defense and passing ability is a nice complement to Martin's offense. A Holiday, Martin, Iggy backcourt would be very good Clippers- Young and Bud allows them to swing Butler over to the 2 position which would be an upgrade over Foye. Dalembert would basically do the same thing as Jordan but with a higher ft% and less flashiness. The pick sweetens the deal Afterwards Lowry/ Dragic Lee/ Turner Parsons/ Morris Scola/ Ppat Jordan/ Hill
Sounds like they're making it up. Someone in the broadcast booth should have said, "That won't happen, Houston would have to come up with so much more" etc etc. Although, funny enough, Harden and Ibaka are ranked really high on the "Wish They Were On My Team" list. OKC can't afford to keep all four (Westbrook, Durant, Ibaka, Harden), but they won't start making any hard decisions until after this season, when they have a chance to win it all (or, at least go deep in the playoffs).
I wish. Budinger certainly seems a goner, though, doesn't he? Being held out of games so he doesn't twist an ankle during Trade Season.
I would do Lowry/Scola for Harden/Ibaka, but I still think Westbrook is a point guard, not a shooting guard. His assist numbers are down this year but let's not forget he averaged 8.2 assists per game last season. And, he's only 6'3". It seems more likely to me that OKC would be interested in that deal I mentioned above, something like Martin + Dalembert + Dragic + Patterson for Harden and bad contracts + expirings.
http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...-lakers-gm-mitch-kupchak-discuss-trade-rumors AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- It may not have been what Pau Gasol was hoping to hear. And it certainly wasn't the kind of blanket -- trade him now or don't trade him at all -- answer that Kobe Bryant had asked for. But after months of silence, worry and uncertainty, Gasol and Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak did indeed speak to clear the air about the Spaniard's future with the team. Shortly after Bryant's very public demand for Lakers management to provide some clarity for the team, and specifically for Gasol, about its intentions at the trade deadline, Kupchak called Gasol and spoke to him at length about the situation. "I have an understanding of where things are," Gasol said after the Lakers' shootaround in Detroit on Tuesday, "where they stand and where he stands and where I stand. He [Kupchak] told me to just keep doing what you do, keep playing hard and playing on and from that point on, we'll see." While Kupchak did not tell Gasol that he wouldn't be traded, the conversation seemed to go a long way in settling Gasol's nerves because he hadn't been given much of any feedback about his status since he was involved in the failed Chris Paul trade in early December. "It was kind of calming to have that feedback," Gasol said. "Since before training camp, it was the first time I was approached by them." Gasol admitted he was disappointed that the conversation didn't happen earlier. As a four-time All-Star and a key figure in the team's back-to-back NBA championships in 2009 and 2010, he figured he deserved that. Gasol does seem to understand why he hasn't been told much, however. "It's hard because when an organization is going to pull the trigger (on a trade), I guess the less involvement and the less contact, the easier it is," he said. "That was the point if you watched that movie 'Moneyball', where Brad Pitt doesn't want to be involved with players. I don't know if that's the case or not, but you could see that kind of factor." Gasol said he ended the conversation with one request of Kupchak. "I told him, 'When there's something real on the table, just let me know,' " he said. And did he get a sense that would happen? "Ummm, there's always potential," he said, "because things can turn around or they're not willing to give up a certain player that they were before. You have to understand that." Again, maybe not the answer he was hoping for, but in this case, some clarity was better than the uncertainty and silence he's had to live with for the last few months. "I don't know what, right now, is the state of moves and intentions and stuff like that," he said. "But March 15 is closer. I know it's coming. It's only, what, nine days? So no matter what in nine days, we'll have an answer. That's the good thing. Hopefully after that we can put everything behind us." -------- I wonder if the part I bolded refers to us at all?
http://www.hoopsworld.com/lets-trade-dwight-howard-again Found this tab bit involving Red nation and dwight howard..
well, if this happens, I can see that we go all in to trade for Deron with Lowry and scola plus any piece they want... That is the only way we can keep Dwight here next season instead of a rental. The question is: can magic get better deal than what we offered. It will be a home run play for us if we get these two core and rebuild around them. It is always good that we human beings can dream...
