    So, what's the question?

Like hotballa, I'd worry about hiring an employee who didn't give his last employer notice. But, if he didn't give notice because I was the one pressuring him to hurry up and start, then it obviously it wouldn't matter. Neither would I worry about what a potential employee did a couple of jobs back. So, if you have a job lined up, giving notice isn't very important for your own career most of the time, I'd think.

When you have reason to start a thread like this anyway, because you want to give notice but can't for reasons beyond your control, that's a pretty easy thing to explain away in an interview. I once gave only 1 week's notice because I was in a hurry to get on the new health coverage just in case my twins were born early. That's easy to explain. The guys that have to worry are the ones that just stopped showing up to work one day because they couldn't put up with dumb-asses anymore, or decided to take a roadtrip to Mexico or whatever.

I'm leaving a large public relations agency, so they should be able to find a replacement quickly from either one of their offices or a new hire. There's no shortage of applicants.
