Looks kind of like Van Gundy offense sans Yao and McGrady.

Kevin McHale knows basketball better than anyone on this board. In fact, it's the reason he has the job and you don't. All this pissing and moaning is what junior highers do. It's frustrating to watch our players struggle, but let's face it, our chemistry is off--it's no secret. If the guys can't humble themselves to McHale's leadership and strategies, execute his gameplans, they can either rot on the bench, pack their bags for the D-League, or be a professional athlete who signed a contract with a franchised organization and play their ASSes off EVERY night.

You know.. remember last year when Rockets had the chance to beat the Lakers in the game opener? Or what about the other dozen games where we failed to close the game. Who was our coach again? Adelman correct?

Now the same thing is happening now, except we're actually winning SOME. Maybe it's the players who can't perform in the clutch?

    NAH, lets blame the coach.

    smh

Good breakdown, and something I agree with heavily. I really want to see Marcus Morris play, because from what I've seen he's excellent at establishing position on a smaller man, which he will be going up against exclusively at the 3 spot, while also being able to run the high post effectively since his faceup jumper is so excellent.

And it's so easy to project how the Nene/Gasol combo would work in this basic offense, it just makes you even more angry at David Stern.

    **** THAT NOISE !!

McHale is paid handsomely to motivate and get his players to buy in, if he can't do it, there are plenty of PROVEN NBA coaches that can.

Right now, all I hear from McHale is that the team is not playing with enough effort.

    Well, coach....whose fault is that?

And maybe, just maybe they aren't playing hard for him because they can see he is not prepared for the job or sucks at it.

His offensive sets are putrid, this is not good basketball, coming from Adelman to this ISH is horrible.

McHale is not a great coach, he proved it in Minny, and he is proving it again in Houston.

Only now it is at our expense....

KMac has other ideas aobut his offense. He likes to dump it into the post but we have no one to dump it to. There is no McHale playing in the paint for the Rockets.

I'm not trying to knock Kevin because I have liked a lot of what he has done this season....but this is exactly what a number of us was worried about when he took over the head coaching position. I thought it was supposed to be Chris Finch running the Adelman offense and Kelvin Sampson working the defense but in truth I think its all McHale right now.

This is how I see it right now, the guys can't execute the gameplan. The post-game interview where he says he doesn't want them playing the clock down every time just supports that theory. They forget the coaching advise and run a improvised offense when the game is on the line.

McHale is an imbecile and is nowhere near being a coach for a D league team, much less an NBA team.

The moron watches every lead dwindle down to the bare minimum before calling time outs. His substitutions are horrific. We have no offensive plan or structure when it matters.

Rick with this same team would probably have us in the 4th spot.

McHale said he is an offense coach in one of those interviews before the season.

I don't know where Rick would have this team....not sure I really care because that ship already sailed.

But there's no denying the coaching of this team looked awful over the last two games...the management of minutes...the rotations...the complete lack of anything on the offensive end down the stretch...stale.

this is what McHale tells the players during the timeouts

McHale: "alright guys i don't know any plays so just go out there and run around until you get open and shoot"

D'Antoni and Don Nelson made a career with that.
