Ric Bucher keeps tying to sell a Lowry+Scola for Gasol trade

Gasol will never lead this team either . I can't believe we're trading the heart and soul of this team. I don't know what's worst, this rumor or the fans that actually think that it's a good idea.

 

How would we know if Lin was any good?? He would still be riding the pine...

 

gasol for dragic, budinger and scola more than likely. Why the lakers do it? because they need a pg that can frustrate westbrook and they get some needed scoring with luis and chase.

I'm just an observer. I have no interest in my favorite team acquiring gasol, who used to be one of my favorite players before joining la.

 

See my post above. You are right. If the rumor is out, it is most likely a fake out. Besides Lowry and Scola is not enough salary for Pau. We would have to at least throw in Chase or one of the other expirings to make it work.

Doesn't make sense for this to leak at this time, especially since the Lakers are playing very well. I would bet this leak came from our side of the table and the purpose is to get the Nets and Magic to the table. The reason being that we could amnesty Martin and move the rest of our youngsters for future draft picks and/or expirings and have enough space to offer max deals to the pair of Dwight and DWill outright.

Leaks on March 6 are done purposely to get teams to the trade table. That's my take.

Well, it would take Lowry Martin and Scola just to match Kobe's contract. And he can't carry a team on his shoulders anymore. We'd at least get media coverage

What a trade like this does is eliminate the Lakers from the Dwight/Dwill equation, which in turn limits the trade options of the Magic and Nets, and it also opens up the possibility for Dwight/Dwill to be able to choose between the Nets, Mavs, and Rockets on who to sign with going forward.

Do they want to play with Dirk in Dallas? Do they want to play with Pau in Houston? Or do they want to play with Brooks in New Jersey? Orlando and NJ know this as well.

And they also know that if we do a deal with the Lakers that their opportunities to get max value for Dwight and DWill go down because their trade options become more limiited. They lose the Lakers as a trade option and they lose the ability to pick and assets off our roster.

It severely limits the possible trade value they can get for Dwight and DWill, not only now at the trade deadline, but after the season is over if they do convince those guys not to option out but instead let them trade them to the team of their choosing.

 

What if Morey is trying to get Gasol to flip over to Orlando for Howard? Then we just sign Dwill straight up in the off season

 

This would be a great move, if the Rockets could follow it up with a deal to acquire a point guard, like Kyle Lowry of the LA Lakers.

Worst case scenario....we trade for Gasol, go after Gordon with a max offer in the offseason and offer big money to Asik, then draft Lillard to be the point.

That's an upgrade from what we have now. Not to mention we know Martin will not have to be amnestied. He can be traded for expirings and a pick if need be.
