They're similar, I don't entirely like the changes that were made because it has lead to a few misbuys (but that's mostly user error). Armor, and defuse kit is under "gear" (#5), Grenades are under "grenades" (#6). Other than that they're pretty close to the originals.

I was reading about the P2000 (new USP) and apparently damage for it and the glock has both been increased. So maybe I was just missing. They also apparently can spam through doors a bit, at least wood ones anyway. Also glock's burst fire isn't an instant shot like a shotgun any more. It's an actual 3 round burst now, but relatively quick.

I have a very low 6 digit SteamID (133xxx). When you go into servers people have these 9+ digit IDs now, it's pretty funny.

Hahaha, well that changed quickly. Now there's no excuse for them not to get rid of that fog. It's also good for PS3 players, because the beatdown they would have received at the hands of PC players would have been quite unfair.

I've used buy binds for so long, for a second I was like wtf does this mean lol.

Cross platform play is an interesting idea but not one suited for counter-strike imo. Glad to hear they are most likely scrapping it.

    PS3 users would get raped.
FPS games on the PC are TOUGH especially against people who take games seriously.

You can bunnyhop in Source (not quite as well, but it's possible) still, I've been doing it the past few days. You definitely can not do it in CS:GO. In fact if you jump more than 3 or 4 times in a row you don't really lift off of the ground. I did hear somewhere that there is a server side command that requires sv_cheats to activate, so it may still be possible.

Something I forgot to mention: the amount of money you get varies based off the weapon you use, instead of the previous $300 for everything. AWP kills are $50, M4 is still $300 I believe. Knife kills are only worth $300, sadly. Meanwhile you have the MP7 (which is not a bad smg) that gives $900 per kill and costs $1700. I think that's a bug, but it could come in handy if they keep it that way -- 2 kills and the weapon more than pays for itself.

    Patch from last night
It seems like they're patching this game almost weekly now, and it's almost always a direct result of feedback. I've never seen a company do that, it seems to be that Valve and Hidden Path really want to do this correctly and not repeat the same mistakes as CS:Source. (A really good example here is in the past year they updated Source to have smoke grenades similar to 1.6 [they expand instantly and cover a bigger area]. That's about 5 years too late. CS:GO's smoke works great)

    Fog:
I mentioned this in my post yesterday, and they reduced the amount of fog on Train. It is now much easier to see at distance, especially with scoped weapons. Their reasoning for the fog is that it allows players (who are not scoped specifically) to discern an enemy from the very colorful/highly textured maps. I can buy that, but again...a change as a direct result of recent community feedback. The map of the week this past week was de_train, and they've kept it as such to see if people like it or still want less. For the most part this was the only map it was a big problem on, so it's really encouraging.

    Guns:
Mac10 is still basically only a comedy weapon. Westsideeeee. MP9 (CT only, I believe this is a MP5 replacement) seems to be a decent weapon, need to play with it more. 5-7 is available to both teams (again, need to test it more). Bizon is now available to both teams, this gun does no damage but it is hilarious -- it has a 64 round clip (We call it the PPSH ultra, PPSH was the 35 round gun from the original CoD). We were hoping they'd add the FAMAS, but no such luck.

    New game mode next week:
They're adding the new mode, Arsenal, which is basically reverse gun game for those who are familiar. There is a bomb objective, but the idea is you start with a powerful gun -- you get a kill -- then you receive a new gun of a lower tier. Then so on and so forth. I'm not a big fan, but it'd be nice to have on the side. One of my teammates suggested that they needed to add Deathmatch. I kind of agree, nothing will help you increase you aiming as fast as Deathmatch -- nothing. They won't do it, but hopefully modders will fix that sooner rather than later.

Thoughts on the removal of cross platform:
I never really cared about it from the get go. PS3 players would have been crushed unless they were using mouse/kb, and if the game is locked at 60FPS (and I assume it is) -- they'd still be at a huge disadvantage. On the other side they stated it was the make sure that all platforms get patches on time. Frankly, I think that is developer speak for they wanted to make sure that the PC version was the best version (and it should be). Initially when they announced this game they stated the PC version would be a port of the console version, so far I'd say I can tell. However, this is a step in the right direction. It really is turning out to be a very good game.

Blah blah blah, they added Arsenal / de_lake (I haven't played either). Some people say it's fun, my teammates weren't fans.

On the bigger side of things; they continue to have very big weekly updates correcting issues people are complaining about.

The biggest one so far for me is that they have corrected the audio problems.
This was probably my biggest gripe with the game, and it's not really an issue any longer.

Another plus is the randomness from 1.6 is back. We were playing on Nuke -- I had 18hp coming outside toward the lobby. Some guy was getting shot at (the CT was missing horribly), and I randomly get killed through the wall by his garbage spam. It was pretty hilarious. Oddly enough, this is something I like. Yeah, it would suck to get randomed during a big match -- but it's a factor that makes the game deeper. Good job, Valve/Hidden Path.

Yeah, sometimes I feel old playing against 16 year olds. Then again, I'm still ripping them up so I must not be that old.
    It's never too late, man!

Rofl, I remember that map. Hated it.

So I haven't updated this in awhile, Valve has been releasing weekly patches over the course of the last month (the one exception being Easter weekend, but they followed it up with a massive patch). This is just off the top of my head so I may miss some things:

Increased accuracy across all weapons/modified recoil (they're a lot better now).
Added screen shake visual feedback to recoil (this is just like 1.6/source).
    Added lots of weapons.
Added the option to have 2 flashbangs (I hope no one enables this, the current flashbangs are ridiculous. I hope they reduce the flash time on them a good bit).
Corrected a bug that enabled 100% damage through walls (yeah...it's nice to be able to cross double doors on d2 again).
Modified grenade damage (they don't 1 shot you if you don't have armor now).
Added Arsenal: Gungame (this is traditional gungame, you kill someone with a weapon then instantly receive another weapon cycling through almost all weapons, ending with knife to win the game).
Added a lot of maps for Arsenal: Demolition (covered in previous posts).
Adjusted fog levels further (it's not really noticeable on most maps now, although I hope they release competitive versions of every map like they did dust2).
Re-added bunnyhopping (you don't gain speed, but you can maintain momentum).

That's all I can think of at the moment. The game is shaping up a lot, 1.6 pro teams are even viewing the game in a favorable light. I think it'll be in beta at least another 2 months or so. Really looking forward to the final release.

Note about Arsenal: Demolition: When this initially came out I just wrote it off. I've played it a few times since and it's actually pretty fun. I call it "counter-strike with training wheels". Basically the maps are about half the size of normal maps, and only include one bombsite (cutesy stuff like a bank the T's are trying to blow up for some reason). Each round you spawn with a weapon (starting with AK or M4 I believe) then if you get a kill (doesn't matter how many you get during the round) the next round you receive something else (usually less powerful). It essentially forces you to try a lot of the weapons so you get a better feel for the game, and you spawn with full armor. I believe the rounds are also shorter, and it's MR10 (first team to 11 rounds wins). All in all I think it'll be good for newer players. Counterstrike is very unforgiving in and of itself, especially if you're playing against people who have 13 years of experience on you. It's close enough to the normal "competitive" game mode that it can hold your hand until you're ready for it.

This week they made some more changes to movement; it feels very good now. A new tournament edition version of Aztec was introduced (no fog, less objects, just generally more streamlined). They also added more recoil since they reduced it too much last week. They called it a "bug", I think it's more likely they realized they made a mistake. With that said, the guns feel great and a lot more balanced now. And if you were guessing that I play this like a fiend you'd be correct.
