Why does the GARM have so much interest in T-Will?

I've never seen a player other than maybe Francis and T-Mac who gets this much attention as they are sitting at the end of the bench. I can understand franchise and T-Mac, 2 guys who at one point were the cornerstones of this franchise but for T-Will to get this much attention every single time he steps on the court is just odd. Until he actually gets some minutes and plays well i'm not sure what the big deal about this guy really is. As far as i'm concerned he's like many other players in the NBA, a guy that has talent but just can't put it together once he steps onto the court. It is what it is......

The problem is he has never consistently got minutes for one reason or the other here so people are intrigued.

To be fair... he is talented but does not possess Tmac talents of
11th pick of a below average draft class

    He does not have:
freakishly long arms like an ape.....
Perfect size or excellent length for a wing player
    Kobe's desire to succeed
Belief that he is a Shooting Guard, which makes it easier to fit into a system

I can understand the interest but not this hype! Again I can understand outcry for more talent.

I have always thought of what he did in college and in some games in jersey and though If he grew on that he would be a really good player. I think his attitude is getting better but I'm not sure he's the player I thought.

I still want to see him play more to assess what we have

People see him as the white Jeremy Lin.

He's long for a guard and actually...Twill came into the league WANTING to be a guard.

The SF idea came from when he was on the rockets since we have too many Guards and he played both guard positions in NJ any ways.

I think the one glaring weakness is that he doesn't look comfortable out on the court. He forces the issue at times, and doesn't seem to play within the system. I'm not impressed and can see why he doesn't get the PT.

Because once he gets that shot down, he will be T-Mac-ish.

I am just saying he is sometimes too shy to shoot or shoots very bad numbers.....
too much focus on facilitating ... but is a tier below Tmac in that category anyway... we need a scorer

I remember him putting up triple doubles in the Dleague or with the lowly Nets.
Dwill had 57 with the Nets.... I want to watch him do it in a Jazz uniform in the West. See.... you have to do it on a playoff team.
Even Kevin Martin has problems to score consistently on a playoff team without Adelman.

Never playing could be a big reason for his shyness or hesitance to shoot.

If you play a guy 2 times ever 2 months he's probably going to make a few mistakes because of his lack of playtime.

That is not my cup of beer. The Rockets amassed those assets to make a deal rather than developing so it seems to me.

    Unfortunately.

I'm not a Twill hater or supporter but I think you can fairly judge guys if you play them consistently. What they have done to him is just throw him in there randomly at times...if he makes a mistakes they then yank him out and then he'll be lucky to see the court a month later.

If i'm a player on that type of leash it is easy to get frustrated. Especially since so many other guys are on longer leashes than mine. Then when I play I wouldn't help but play paranoid and try to be perfect just so that I could get more minutes to impress the staff.

Nobody wants to take them ... they are only considered as fillers.....
I am not a hater myself ... I want him succeed.... I don't know what kind of players can actually succeed in this system.

We let go of Lin and Novak.
They play better now with New York. You can't predict that. Williams is not a potential superstar so he has no bragging rights before Budinger or Lee just because he was a higher draft pick.
No.11 draft picks could turn out to be disappointing the same way.

I know he doesn't deserve rights to play before anyone else.

But if you are going to do so, then give him some consistent minutes please. That goes for anyone. It's hard for anyone to succeed if you don't give them that and even Clyde has been saying that about Twill every time he gets the chance to.

I know maybe it is really time to let him go because he obviously need a coach or management that believes in him. A good place. It might not be the Rockets.

I am not someone who excited about his athleticism, dunks or fancy passes and Shooting Guard is the least favorite spot of mine personally.

There are reasons why there are journeymen in the league. They can be replaced and he should be cautious not to fall into this category.

Idiocy. It runs rampant on these threads daily. He is nothing more than a athletic guy who intrigues people. Clutchfans and Morey fall in love with these guys lately. I dont see it without some type of production on the court to show it? I just dont buy it. Has to start beating out people and having glimmers of brilliance that are not from two years ago. To me a couple of years of nothing is nothing.

How do you produce on the court with sporadic minutes in 1 or 2 games every few months?

His on-court production is not much worse than who we've got playing in front of him, and his upside is much higher.

We might as well play him.
