Thanks BetterThanEver for setting things straight. The Knicks' pick will be #10,11,12,15, or 16. Very helpful, especially for draft forcasting. I think this draft could be deep through the lotto (depending on who declares) so i think we'll end up with a good player if we use the pick. But hopefully, we can package it with another player to move up.

Basically for you guys wanting the picks, the best case scenario would be for the Rockets to miss the playoffs and for the Knicks to miss the playoffs (but by not much). That would give you two lottery picks. This was a big reason for a lot of people wanting to tank. An easy rule to remember is if you make the playoffs, no lottery and if you miss it, always lottery.

Knicks cant fall out of top 8 no matter how bad they play cause there is one one else to take over. Bucks have the best shot but they just cant get it together.

wasnt this suppposed to be a "deep" draft. If any one kept up with college ball instead of sports center and draft projections, they would see most of the projected 1st rounders are playing horrible right now. Drummond is VERY overated for a center and wont last in the nba if picked. He is struggling in college!

Actually, according to Morey this draft isn't all that it's cracked up to be. IIRC he said it does run about 20 players deep in terms of good players, but superstar potential is 3. Overall, I wouldn't expect the next Kobe popping up with the one or two 10-20 picks we may have in the draft. Expect something more in line with Patterson/Morris/Motiejunas talent.

Hard to choose which is worse the Bogut injury or Novokaine lighting it up every other game.

OT loss to celtics today. And now the gauntlet of very hard games starts this week the mavs and spurs.

I'm hoping Knicks go down in flames.

They lost @ Boston in OT. Nothing to be ashamed of. They were up 3 in regulation and could've fouled but chose not to and got burned.

The bad news is it looks like Baron Davis is looking like he'll be a competent backup to Lin. Not only will this allow the Knicks to rest Lin more, but B-Diddy when healthy can still show flashes of his old greatness.

The bottom of the East is so bad that it's probably pointless to follow the value of the pick. Most likely will be the 15th pick when it's all said and done.

I agree with you guys. But the Knicks schedule has been EASY up to this point and I still think that there is a very decent chance they lose 8 of 10 starting today.

Hey at least I can hope :)

Actually best case scenario would be for the Rockets to win the Championship and the Knicks to miss the play-offs by a lot and end up with the 6th pick in the draft.

Yes. And to rub salt into the wound it appears the Rockets have been pivitol in the Knicks getting better.

1st - We had a chance to trade Scola and stuff for Amare and did not. With out Scola we might have resigned Amare and he would have never gone to the Knicks. With no Amare on the Knicks, Melo might have prefered the Nets or some other team than the Knicks and the Knicks might have been a Lottery Team last season with a worst record than the Rockets and we might have been able to actually get some value with the option to swap picks last season. Also with no Amare and no Melo then the might also be no Tyson this off season.

2nd - It was against the Rockets that Andrew Bogut got hurt. Prior to that injury it was looking like the Bucks were going to challange for the 7th seed and maybe higher. Certainly the race for the last play-off spot would be much much tighter than it currently is and even with Jeremy Lin's play the Knicks might be falling into the lottery.

3rd - The Rockets had Jeremy Lin on the roster. Even if the Rockets don't play Lin in the Rotation, just keeping him on the roster would have kept him off of the Knicks roster and we would likely be more worried about the Knicks getting a top 5 pick than worring if they will slip into the lottery which they likely will not at this point.

If it's the 15th pick that is at least still more than TMac was worth when we traded him.

With this draft being so deep, I would rther the Rockets miss the playoffs and keep their pick. That and the knicks pick close together will make it more valueable and Morey can finally trade up for a blue chip player.

To be honest, this draft is pretty overrated and not as deep.

Are you sure? You have to a lot of analysis to come to that conclusion. The little bit I've done has me thinking it is clearly better than last year. Donatus is better than anyone you can get passed 20 imo but that was a mistake by many GM's and the quality players in the top 20 is better overall IMO. The problem is we do not need two more rookies to sit on the bench. We need a star. Show me how you can turn those draft picks into a potential star or at great rim protector and I'll throw in anything we have.

I disagree with you but even so why would a team trade thier top 10 pick for 2 mid-round picks in a weak draft? Quality over quantity no?
