What cap room are you propsing that the team keeps over Sammy D? Who is out there still that you want for for $7 mil this year or for 1.5 mil next?
The Dalembert signing was rock solid. Much better than the Brad Miller one, despite the higher price tag. I think we would be just below .500 without him on board. He's been a little better than I expected him to be. You can't gripe that much about the guy leading the team in boards, especially when he does so with backup minutes. I do hope we improve the position...soon. This team remains very vulnerable to physical frontcourts.
I don't think it's occurred to one damn person that maybe Dalembert started off the meeting by calling himself out? That perhaps he was the best person to address the issue because he was ready to admit he hadn't been all in lately? Some of you assholes truly do just assume you have one damn clue to what is going on and why inside the locker room. NEWSFLASH: NONE OF US KNOW How illogical is it to rag on someone for standing up to say "I give a ****" only because he hadn't done it sooner, or has been the main offender in our eyes. What matters is someone did it. It would have been great to hear that Lowry called it but that doesn't mean he somehow can't lead this team on the court now all of a sudden. All I know is that anyone who wishes or was expecting Martin to step-up on that level is an idiot.
Years ago the Rockets got Steve Francis AFTER having Rafer Alston, Mike James and drafting Aaron Brooks with "no injury history". Thats 4 point guards, which means they didnt have a problem "shelving" the young guy who they could groom along. Rockets and Morey forgot their own past history there. Difference was Brooks was a draft pick prospect on a team with veterans. And Lin just a waiver wire pickup on a team with young guys similar to him, so he's less likely to be "stashed". But with a small tight rotation already there WAS precedent to keep Lin (over Adrien. Too bad he got a "business handshake" deal they felt obliged to honor over Lin). Chuck was a low post defender. Sam is a rim protector. We downgraded in low post one on one defense but we upgraded as far as protecting the rim is concerned. The games that I have been watching, even when Sam has 0 points and 0 rebounds - teams dont get to score close to the basket as much when he is down there under the rim. Then when you looka t the box score - Dally's overall efficiency is always in +. When Chuck was playing sure he stopped Griffin or Love but what about the 4 other players then proceeding to hammer us with dunk contests and lay up drills. Chuck could never in his wildest dreams contests layps and dunks. Chuck stooped 1 player where as Sammy prevents anyone who attacks the basket. Different players, different role, different game dude.

One more reason I am glad you are not in charge of personnel decisions. When the talent is a turn-over machine you let him go to New York... I think this is more a reflection of how poor your evaluation of talent is than McHale and Morey. Period.

Both Chuck and Dally aren't space eaters. Even a guy like Kaman could affect a shot better by simply standing there because he's big.
What most fans don't understand is Chuck Hayes effected more shots before they become shots by slapping balls away and forcing the shooter into awkward shooting position, than most shotblockers in the league have effected by blocking the shot or threatening to block the shot. Hayes slaps away more balls and forces more bad shots with his defensive positioning than the combined number of blocks and changed shots that Deandre Jordan forces.
Agreed. Chuck has a rare combination of hustle, strength, speed and brains which makes him one of the premier post defenders in the league despite his lack of size and shot blocking ability.
