.... Rajon Rondo was 2 points and 3 rebounds away from repeating the unbreakable Wilt record for 20+20+20 triple-double and that is the guy that can't make open three and shoots free throws at an average center's level Hold on, wait for a second and try to realize how great this performance was
Rondo is a great player. At this point he just needs to change his shot completely because this one isn't working very well. How much worse can it get if he tries to change it. He gets most points at the rim anyways.
He also missed some wide open layups. He could have had 20+ points easily. Rondo is one of those rare talents that can put up mind boggling numbers. Yet he also has obvious flaws in his game. If the C's are going to trade him this performance has just raised his trade value.
people always wonder "if he can shoot" but he has made little to no progress in his shooting ability, and it is almost sad to see.
People can hate as much as they want on him, let everyone nut hug Rose and under appreciate this guy. Rondo will be the true pg while everyone else can have the hype.
Something is fishy...... He has one of the greatest shooters in the game as his back court partner in Ray Allen and he can't develop a decent SHOT?
Fortunately the shot is the easiest thing to fix in the NBA because it simply takes repitition in game-like practices. If JKidd could be one of the all-time great 3-point shooters, Rondo too can become an effective shooter. I would trade for Rondo in a heartbeat for any of our players because as good as he is, he is only going to get better. I think he has the potential to be the best PG in the league. He also is a champion. No, not because he helped the C's win one. He has a true heart of a champion IMO. He is tough-minded and WANTS to win EVERY game.
I'd rather have nash than rondo. You can compensate for poor defense, but if your pg can't make jumpers you can't run pick n roll effectively.
IMO, there is too much hyperventilating about Rondo's stat line. It was a great performance. The balance between points/assists/rebounds is what makes it so rare and unique. But was it better than D-Will's 57/7/6 vs Charlotte? How do you quantify points vs assists vs rebounds? The fact Rondo's stat line is very unique shouldn't inflate it's value. He was awesome yesterday, but he's still Rondo. There are several PGs better than him.
