I just want to know one thing.

Is Lowry a better point guard than Aaron Brooks?

There aren't many super athletic point guards out there, there's Rose and Wall, maybe Westbrick. Most of the better point guards are about poise and control, Paul, Williams, Nash, etc

And it's not like Rose doesn't blow up Rondo as well.

Win a championship with better players around him? Captain obvious moment much?

Magic Johnson couldn't lead this team as constructed to a title.

That's right but this has to do something with the supporting cast. Playing with PP, Ray and KG in the playoffs makes it easier for him, but I have to agree he's had few games this year (when his stars aren'r really that great anymore) where he looked great.

With Lowry, I think he is more consistent especially because of his much better jump shot. This one is close in my book, very close.

Spurs fans are not unbiased. They hate the Rockets. Naturally they would vote against Kyle.

The truth is probably somewhere in between. I think it's very close. Rondo has the edge on defense and playmaking, while Lowry actually has a three point shot, which is huge. Lowry also has a slight edge in rebounding and hits more of his free throws.

For me Lowry just barely edge out Rondo. Not factoring in my Rockets fandom at all. Obviously being a Rockets fan I would take Lowry ten times out of ten. But from a third-team perspective it would almost be a coin flip

    Just ask yourself this question.

Would you swap Rondo for Lowry for just this season?

    I wouldn't here is why.

Lowry actually has a more than solid offensive game. He can drain the long ball and will force teams to guard him and can drive in the paint and finish as well. Lowry may not be the defender Rondo is but you can argue he is still one of the better defenders at Point...his vision may not be as good as Rondo's and his passing but he gets everyone involved (unless he is having one of those nights where he forces things...)

Overall. I'd take Lowry because I know if my team is down and we need a offensive spark Lowry has a better chance of giving the team that than Rondo and he's still a great defender and does many other things well.

Lowry is just the all-around PG. I've compared him to Billups many times (not quite at that level) but it's very much the same. Billups was just the all-around PG. He wasn't really bad at anything and that was his main strength. Also Billups game only got better as he continued to play. Maybe that is so with Lowry.

    Sorry, COMPLETELY disagree.

Jason Kidd and Billups are very mediocre players right now.

Parker is 29 and Nash is still elite.

    Kidd and Billups aren't.

Lowry because he's actually got a jump shot.

I only pick Lowry because of the personnel on the starting lineup. Rondo is the better player, but if you were to pick him up you would need more 3 pt shooters in the starting lineup.

    18 17 20 *cough*
Surround him with good players and this shouldn't even be a question. Rondo is special.

Yes, so it's not a question. And he would be a good fit for our team, too. So I don't see why so many people vote for Lowry here.

For as good as that stat line looked, if you saw the game Rondo was almost the goat imo. I thought I was watching Rafer2.0 with all the teardrops he was throwing up, and missing. And he kept on shooting them. Early in the shot clock too. One in particular was with Bos. up 4, about 1:30 or so left in the 4th, and he shoots another one with 15-20 seconds still on the shot clock. SMH

If P-squared hadn't bailed them out with that clutch three to tie in regulation the loss would have been on him.

A guy puts up 18 17 20 and you'd blame the loss on him? Sorry but that's stupid as F.
He's PG and grabs 17 boards for your team, then dishes it 20 times which makes 40 points if it'd only be 2pointers, but it were a tons of 3pt plus and ones. So he was responsible for more than half of the points for them. Without his playmaking, defense, steals and rebounding you think the game would've been this close?

    For many reasons.

Probably the biggest one being we have Lowry locked up for a bargain contract, which happens to be the same reason why many would be reluctant to have D-Will over Lowry. Cap room is good.

And I don't get what you are saying, Rondo has better players surrounding him so it's not a question that he is better than Lowry?

Rondo's ability to pass, rebound and defend is never doubted. His ability to score however is a different story.

homer... Rondo's had a great game so there is no need to nitpick. If Rondo didnt have this type of game they would have lost.

Rondo shouldnt be the closer on the team and Lowry shouldnt be a closer on a legit team. Pierce should be taking those shots.

Not 100% on him, but if you've been missing all day you don't take the same shot with that much time left, and your team leading. And your stat line the previous 48 minutes doesn't mean jack squat if you make stupid plays at the end. Not saying Rondo did that, just the part about shooting so damn much (especially early in the clock) when you're up late, and trying to close out the game. Other than that he played great. Still no excuse though.
