Kevin Martin? C'mon now. Eric Gordon is 23 with all around game +. If his knee is okay, Eric is grade A Prime seeing as he can bust it and get to the line/rack.... Besides that Gordon is a fantastic perimeter defender and sees the court like a 1. The only drawback of a Lowry/ Gordon backcourt is that we probably will get posted up a bit. (although his lack of height is mostly offset by strength and athleticism) But it's worth it. Our back court would be comprised of two all star level players that can play both ends in a big way. The sick thing is that Eric still has the potential/upside to become even better than Kyle.

As far as NO doing it? Gordon has already stated that he's leaving AND he's hurt at the moment. They don't have much leverage. Then, there is the aforementioned "make-up call" which fits right in with the modus operandi of the NBA.

Gordon hasn't. He is a restricted free agent. NOH have the last say on whether he's leaving or not.

He's got a lot riding on a small sample size post injury, big potential, and a short but productive career.

What kind of $$$ do you think he'll command? I know he turned down an earlier offer by NO. I'm sure Stern was lowballing him big time due to the lack of clarity with regard to his situation....and his RFA status.

And thanks, it had slipped my mind for a sec that he was RFA .....Still, as I understand it, Gordon won't be there....doesn't want any part of what's happening in the Big Easy.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, if we don't land Dwight and DWill, I'd just as soon throw a max contract at Gordon and force Stern to have to match or lose him for nothing, making his renown Clipper trade turn to a pillar of salt overnight. Make him either overpay or lose Gordon for nothing.

Yeah, that would be poetic justice.
To me, his #7 pick is much deserved... in line with the guys near the top of that 2008 draft. I actually believe that before all is said and done that he'll be a better player than Westbrook (whom I think is overrated). Eric has just had the wrist and knee injuries + being in a horrible situation in New Orleans. That can cut both ways though. Perhaps he can be had for less than the max.

Kyle Lowry and Eric Gordon would be a ridiculously filthy backcourt.

Now If we can just swing a deal to get some studly bigs...

And YOUNG too. Yeah, if we get our hands on EG... w/ our flexibility... that frontline can eventually be addressed in such a way as to make us contenders for a long time.

Count me in on the EG bandwagon. I bet we would re-up him for less than a max deal as well.

I would do this just to screw Stern over.

Plus if Gordon didn't work out the Rockets would be a top 5 lotto. Instead of being the #14 pick. Or the #8 seed that's an 1st rd out.

Kinda a Pyrrhic victory though, EG is a good player, but definitely not a max player.

That's a very good trade, esp if the Rockets can re-sign Kaman for cheap.

The Rockets should only focus on getting Kaman. Asking for Gordon could be a deal killer(Stern). If they wanted to get something extra, they should really go after Xavier Henry. Just give them all of the 09er's(including Bud and yes GARM comedians,Thabeet:rolleyes:). That would be all the youth and talent that they would want. If they want more, then you offer Martin or Scola. The Rockets also might want to think about taking on Ariza's contract too.

Dunno if this has been addressed here but would EG stay away from Rox because of Kelvin Sampson. Is there bad blood there from what Sampson did to IU?

Kaman is a good player. But his best days are definitely behind him. It looks like he has slowed down a bit.

True, but he is a better option than our current starting 5. Kaman/Dally would be a good one-two punch at the 5. Enough to get us deep into the playoffs.

He has, and he's still very inefficient with the ball, but 17 and 9 in his last 10. As a plan B trade, he'd look good tag teaming with Dalembert. If one's having a lame night, ride the other.

...or a trade that requires the extra roster space?

Rockets fans love recruiting chronicly injured players like Gordan and bogut Smh . We had enough of that with yao and tmac?

I don't recall Kaman being injury prone.
