On a single night, no big deal, but as a norm, yes, that's bad. Volume shooters hurt their teams. Way too many folks are sucked in to FG% and point totals. PPS is much more important.

    Fail

Three of those shots were in one possession, so this is not bad at all

That's not a fail. I was going off the box score. I didn't watch the game.

    OKC Game:

Tracy McGrady has a strained left knee. His return is doubtful.

Time for the fake Hawks fans to change the channel on league pass!

Durant missed like every shot in the last 2 minutes.

For some reason, when I preview the post, the video doesn't show up, so here you go:

Yup, make definitive statements about a game without watching it.

You can totally tell everything from the box score without any context.

Disagree. PPP is what matters not PPS. Some players don't get to the foul line much. Doesn't make them bad on offense. Plus you have to look at context.

IIRC, Derrick Rose wasn't the most efficient player throughout his career and last year when he won MVP

They are both important, and I don't recall even mentioning points per possession, so I don't see what you're disagreeing with. Over the course of a year or career, PPP and PPS are going to trend together. You won't find many guys with PPS above 1.3 and a low PPP.

And again, I specifically said that a single game isn't a big deal...but long term averages are. Single games can absolutely be excused by context.

T-Mac on facebook: "I have a surprise coming tomorrow! Be sure to check back here tomorrow before we take on the Pacers!"

Anxious to see what he means.

    Sometimes you can.
The box score might not showcase a lot of intangible things a player might have done but it gives you an absolutely objective perspective of the game.

Coupling a box score with actually watching the game gives you two insights that you can use to come up with a conclusion.

by the way he played an excellent 4th quarter with a huge stretch running the offense.

It is sad. He needs to go to Phoenix and at least stay healthy. I feel like a lotta players would have retired if they had to deal with all the knee problems.

Yeah, that's what his role should be. Still a very high BBIQ player.
