Ha! Golden State is working on trying to get Dwight Howard for a package that revolves around Monta Ellis, but if that falls through, I'm sure they will give Houston a call and inquire about Dally.

Isn't Jrue Holiday a point guard?

Not sure why any of these teams do this.

It would have been nice if we just drafted him instead of Morris.

Vucevic + Turner for Martin might be pushing it but it would obviously be incredible.

Houston trades: Jordan Hill, Chase Budinger, 2nd rounder
    Denver trades: Kousta Koufos

I know what you're thinking total knee jerk reaction to yesterday, but this guy is a total baller. He's 7'0 tall 265 lbs so he's feaking MASSIVE. 15 lbs more than Dalembert to be exact. Second he's amazingly consistent if you looks at his stats for the past month he gives you the same effort every night. hauls ass on the boards, gets tip ins, fights for loose balls. His offensive game is stil developing, but he uses his size effectively, and has pretty good touch, and he can finish at the rim. He's only 23 so he's still young. We've seen the impact McHale has had with Garnett, Jefferson, and Love. Even Patterson to an extent. So we can expect good things over the summer. We should try to extend him with a four year $22 million dollar deal, or something in that range.

Denver gets some pretty good pieces back in return. A wing that can come off the bench and score, a developing young big man in Jordan Hill, and a pick they can use for more depth. They got alot of bodies at center like Mozgov and Anderson so when Nene comes back it'll be hard for them all to get playing time. Also with the signing of Harrington last year, the extensions of Nene and Afflalo, and contracts like Gallinari, Fernandez, coming off the books this summer(Lawson next year as well), Denver will need space to keep some of them, and will probably lose Koufos in free agency. (We could even pick him up.) So the Nuggets will get some value in return for him and their free agency losses.

Overall Koufos would help us out alot in all of the directions the team could take. He'd help us remain competitive by coming off the bench for Dalembert whose only meant to play 24-27 minutes a game any way. With the whole "play well or get benched" approach McHale has taken maybe Dalembert would probably more productive so he won't get benched. He'd could be a major asset in a trade for a superstar if we get him on a fair four year $22 million dollar deal like I'm picturing Morey will. He could be a major asset in a trade to move up in a draft as well. To a lesser extent he could be the superstar we've been searching for . I'm sure Koufos is capable of producing numbers like Pekovic or Gortat.

So yea I think I've made a pretty good case I know some of you probably think it might be a bit of a stretch to give up both of the Wildcats and a pick, but Koufos is definitely worth it

Smith is EXACTLY what we need. Getting both Smith + Pekovic would be even better (without losing Lowry). That would totally transform our front court into a strength.

u an i are in agreement, sir! Unfortunately, we'll probably pour the assets and capspace for BOTH players into Pau Gasol alone....

Scola/Thabeet or TWill or Flynn/NY 1st for smith
    KMart/Bud/Hill/2nd rd for Pek/Beasley
...if not enough add Parsons or Morris as a sweetner...and take back a bu sg..
(otherwise we move one of them and leftover expiring for a bu sg...)

    KLow/dragic
    CLee/?
    Beasley/Parsons or Morris
    Smith/PPat
    Pekovic/Sam/G smith
...thats at least a 2nd rd team....

The way I see it DH will not resign with Orlando if he stays there for the year. So, there's 3 destinations he can end up in:

    1. La Lakers
    2. NJ Brooklyn
    3. Dallas as a FA

All signs point to a Pau Gasol for us/Bynum for Orl/DH for LA deal, but do we really want another powerhouse team in the West? LA's time is done, I say leave them without options and no hope for their next dynasty. DM should instead work with NJ for a package for Dwight Something like:

Orlando: Brook Lopez, Kmart, Scola, Parsons, NYC 1st
Houston: Marshon Brooks, Mehmet Okur, K-Hump
    NJ: Dwight, Hedo
    +filler to make salaries match

I think this would be a great deal for all teams involved, Orlando avoids Mr. Glass Knees Bynum and gets Brook Lopez, 3 of our starters, and our NYC 1st pick to build for the future while also dumping Hedo's crazy contract. We get our backup C in Okur, as well as Marshon "Kobe Jr" Brooks, who I personally think is the best SG in last year's draft. We also end up dumping the last few years of Scola.

Seems to me that if Orlando sees the world the way you do, the last thing they'd want to do would be to trade Howard to an Eastern Conference team, because they'd have to not only continue to climb over Miami and Chicago, but they've have New Jersey and Dwight to contend with as well.

If they send Dwight out west instead, they'd never have to worry about him except if they wer to reach the finals.

I'd do it in a heartbeat.... JHill is expiring, Bud is all but out of the rotation - and adding Morris to the mix, reallly makes him superfluous.... and we can always straight up buy a second round pick if we desire... low investment - possible big return - sure...

Yeah, but the problem here is Orlando isn't in a position to worry about where Howard will end up, his disgruntled and has only committed to play to either Lakers or Nets. So its a choice between Bynum+goodies or Lopez+goodies. Bynum is the better player by far but with him having to get injections on his knee already I think orlando would want to stay away from Greg Oden/Yao Ming the 3rd.

Really if I was Orlando, I'd want both Brooks and Lopez. It's a great young tandem to start building around. I'd rather have Brooks than Martin at this point.
