I have NEVER bought a collector's edition for a game. I've always thought it was completely pointless to do so. I pre-ordered a Collector's Edition for Mass Effect 3, though. I just love this series too much.
Launch Trailer <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/R2W3mif0z-Q" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Can't wait.
I am so ready to spend countless hours on this game. This is the first time I've gotten a game for pc and 360 at the same time. Still think that the first day DLC is bull, but Mass Effect knows the way to my wallet.
Can't wait for this game! I caught up and beat ME2 last week, just in time. My roommates and I have been playing together the ME3 multiplayer demo as well; we think it's pretty fun.
I've spent 30+ hours on ME2 this week to prepare myself. I'll most likely keep playing it all the way up to the midnight release on Monday night. Words can't describe how excited I am about this game.
I am really excited for the game as well, but the endings this game has really just irritates the hell out of me.
^^ I didn't read one preview/review or watched any gameplay video. I wanna be surprised and get blown away by the story. I don't even know what features they added, wanna discover everything myself. Never been this excited for a game.
^^ I think if you have a great PC you should get any game for it because of the better graphics and mods. My laptop is crappy so I get everything for 360, which is good though.
Get the PC... I think there are less bugs in it. At least with the first 2 Mass Effects. In ME3, if the option is there, I'm going to kill Jontro Shepard and save the galaxy. More dramatic that way. Also I hope they get rid of the ammo. I want unlimited ammo like in the first ME. I hate having to conserve bullets and run around looking for spare ammo during battles.
I got the first 2 through gamefly and played them pretty close together but haven't played them since ME2 was released. I've read a synopsis on both and it's weird to me how I seem to remember more of ME than I do of ME2. As I got ME2 through Gamefly, I never did any DLC (hadn't been released yet). Apparently "Lair of the Shadow Broker" and "Arrival" are essential to the storyline, though I'm sure ME3 catches you up well enough. For those who haven't played it, you can read what happened here: http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Storyline_II#Mass_Effect_2_-_Lair_of_the_Shadow_Broker Read the rest of that storyline to catch up if you want. It's interesting to me to read what happened in the books and spinoffs that I never read or played. On another note, I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure I played through the ending of ME2 twice so I have both the ending where you destroy the human reaper and where you don't. I need to think about which save file I should use for ME3.
I went to LVL 57 in ME and imported that one to ME 2, played that one through like two times to get both endings. So I got a GOAT char for ME 3.
They should be super cheap on steam or if you buy online, I think. Play through that **** before release and you good.
If you played non-stop from now until Tuesday, would there even be enough time to finish the first two?
You can play throguh ME 1 in two days easily if you just do the main story. Both in a week is not difficult if you have experience with the game.
I started a new game on ME2 a few days ago and put it on Casual difficulty because I just wanted to get through the main story, LotSB, and Arrival decisions. I finished in about 15 hours. This was after I put 29 hours into a separate save, so I was just rushing through it.
