This pretty much confirms the plan to sign him. Too bad we couldn't have him because of, uhh, basketball reasons.
Well, Nene is out now, and George Karl said he probably won't be 100% all season, so I guess people would probably be complaining about Nene quite a bit now and the $ we used on him.
So do this put an end to all the talk that Nene wasn't coming to Houston if the initial Gasol trade went through? Gasol, Pat, Nene, Chuck... *shrug*
Still, Chuck/Gasol is a pretty good inside out tandem in the starting lineup. UHHH... what could have been. Story of my life.
No, players aren't leaving money on the table. The Nuggets were always going to be his number 1 destination because they could offer him the most money.
Not really. What was he gonna say "hell no, I was just playing Houston for Denver or another team to pony up". But it does sound good..
I think it does. He pretty much says that he could have been in a BETTER spot...why say that at all. He just dissed his current franchise.
The part where he says he could have been at a better spot pretty much confirms he would have been a Rocket. Damn that is sad. A front court of Nene and gasol to go along with Lowry and Lee in the backcourt would have been sicc.
Well its hard to say what would've happened if Nene got here. Under the trade, We would've had a frontline of Hayes, Gasol, Nene, Patterson and Hill. If Nene was injured I'm sure the rest could've covered it. As for Nene leaving money on the table, I'm pretty sure winning would result in more endoresments (and $$$) rather than getting a couple more mill. If Nene got here and became the franchise C, his agent probably could have worked out a deal with some chinese companies.
Unless Nene personally told you this, I doubt it. The whole sentence, and the whole conversation, was about Houston (weather like Brazil, etc). Would be weird for him to switch gear and talk injury all of a sudden.
