The 76ers ARE NOT trading Andre Iguodala for Ray Allen (or ANYONE over 30 for that matter) when all their core pieces are 25 or younger.

There's a bit of bad blood between Stuckey and Kuester, so I'm not buying this as particularly realistic.

You're not looking at the bigger picture for them.

They aren't desperate for depth and if they decide to dump a star like Gasol for a "dog's breakfast" of role players it will be the first time in memory that the front office has done that.

The Kobe factor is huge here. Kobe will absolutely go ballistic on the Laker Front Office to the extent of possibly demanding a trade himself if they simply dump Gasol and get no star power in return.

He's already sent that message publically to Kupchak.

Kobe is about winning championships at 33. He doesn't have the time to wait for the franchise to start over again.

No desperation for role players can compensate for the wrath Kupchak will be dealing with from Kobe and the city of Los Angeles if he goes for a salary dump with Gasol.

They aren't winning a championship with the current supporting cast, that's the problem. Their bench is too awful, their point guard play is too awful, their small forward play is too awful. They would actually improve their chances of winning a championship by trading Gasol for a bunch of solid roleplayers in my opinion.

    Two separate trades:
    1) out: K.Martin , C. Budinger or Parsons(I Perfer Not!)
    In: A. Iguodala

    2) out: T.Williams, J.Hill, H.Thabeet
    In: G.Wallace, C. Johnson

There may have to be some picks included. Play Igoudala
At the Sg. Our starting line up:

    Lowry
    Igoudala
    Wallace
    Scola
    Dalembert

    DEFENSIVE JUGGERNAUT!!!!

I like the creativity. I think all teams are happy with this one if in fact Indiana is ready to finally give up Grainger. The Rockets will def. need to make a separate deal for another big, but I think going into the summer this would be an interesting core.

Signing Dragic in the summer would be key, and I think is easier now then ever before to aquire a good solid PG, so letting go of Lowry for the most skilled big man in the game is the right move to make if you have another piece like Gasol coming back.

But the one negative about this is that it would kill their playoff hopes most likely. Your looking at-

    Dragic, Flynn
    Lee, TWill,,Maybe Jermaine Taylor(resigned)
    Grainger, Parsons
    Patterson, Morris, Adrien(resigned)
    Gasol, Smith, Thabeet

Thats not the biggest lineup there, and they are going to need big man depth eventually to compete in the West. But a good start going into the summer.

Rockets acquire: Pau Gasol & Danny Granger

Lakers acquire: Luis Scola & Kyle Lowry (hoping they would take Dragic instead)

Pacers acquire: Kevin Martin, Samuel Dalembert & Chase

    Reason for Trade:

For the Rockets: Granger has been linked to us since last season and i see his acquisition being the patented Morey surprise trade. Pau Gasol is Houston bound by hook or by crook, Morey just loves him.

For the Lakers: Pretty much a no brainer if they get a all star caliber point guard in Kyle Lowry and a legit 4 to replace Pau in Scola.

For the Pacers: They get deeper with 3 starter caliber players. K-Mart will give them a true shooting guard and move George to his natural small forward position. They also get a solid back up for Hibbert in Sammy D and a much needed Small forward coming off the bench with Budinger.

Knowing Morey, this would just be step one. If this happens, i also see us making a strong push for Chris Kaman.

    Post-Trade Potential Starting 5:

    Dragic
    Lee
    Granger
    Gasol
    Kaman

What do you think about the Pacers not wanting to shake things up too much going into a year that they are pretty much a lock for the playoffs and their team has had solid chemistry thus far? Thats really the only hurdle I see here is Larry Bird's concern with team chemistry.

We should go after Lamar Odom. It's starting to sound like he wants out of Dallas and Dallas isn't really getting anything out of him. Expirings for Odom?

We all know that the key to the trade earlier in January was the Knicks 1st round pick that Morey didnt want to include in the deal. Apparently that was the hold up. Now that the pick has diminished so much, I wonder if both sides warm up to the idea seeing as though its better for NO to get a late 1st round pick then loose Kaman for nothing, and better for the Rockets to have the depth they need going into the playoffs.

To me, if Kaman and his agent make it aware that they will look to sign with Houston in the summer, you do the deal and throw in the pick if they dont take the Minnesota 2nd round pick instead.

ARE YOU KIDDING.... you should be banned for that one.

Lamar has completely quit on his team this year and has shown to be incredibly weak emotionally. DO NOT WANT LAM LAM.

Yeah that would probably be the main issue. The Rockets and Lakers would definitely like this. Here's today's Jason Friedman podcast also mentioning a few names Morey might just end up acquiring...

Admittedly it's unlikely they could pull it off, but we're talking about a team that has gone to the finals 3 out of the last 4 years and won to NBA titles.

Put yourself in their position. Would you want you see a current cast of Rox broken apart if they had been to the finals 3 or the last 4 years and won 2 titles? If you say yes, then you're being disingenuous.

You think Kobe Bryant should just accept that the run is over and all that is left for him is to pursue Kareem's scoring record. He's not built that way.

Right or wrong, Laker fans don't believe it would take all that much to add a couple of instrumental players here and there with a trade of a draft pick or two and the team has enough juice to at least get back to the conference finals.

Hard to argue that that is no longer possible.
