This at least points out Morey wanting to upgrade the 3.

Or to get a good player on the cheap (for Thabust and NYK pick?)

Or to score some weed.

I don't think he will come to Houston.

Too many SF's. Would need to make another deal with Bud in it.

I havn't seen much of Beasly so I can't say if he would fit on the team, but we are really short on top talent, so I don't see the harm if he comes at a cheap price. Not saying he's top talent, but I think the lack of any talent makes him a possible good fit.

I would rather have Wallace but with this team being young and shooting for the future Beasley is probably a better option for Morey.

The problem with Beasley throughout his short career is he has been trying to be a 6'10 SF. Thats it. His defense would be much improved and he would become the player that he was meant to be if he were to play at the 4. Sparingly at the three.

I think he actually measured at 6'7" when he came into the NBA. Hence the, "Is he a 3 or a 4?" debate.

I don't doubt his value as a player. I wouldn't be too opposed to him on the team. If Morey wants a stretch 4 or a spot 3, he could do worse than Beasley. It's just that Beasley needs the occasional motivation, and McHale's got more than a few of these on his hands already (Jordan Hill, Chase Budinger, even Kevin Martin ["come on, Kev, play some D, hunh?"; "but it takes away the rest of my game, Coach"; "pleeeeeeease?"]).

Beasley would make some sense if Morey has plans to ship out Budinger (to Minny?) or maybe Morris (some other team).

Beasley and Martin as a defensive tandem would be BLARF.

Beasely put up 19.2 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 2.2 apg, on 45% shooting, 36% from 3 in 32 min per game last year while primarily playing the 3. Hell yeah I'd trade a mid 1st pick to get that kind of production on the wing compared to what we have now. Gives us more opportunities to package Martin/Bud/Scola in trades too.

His highlights from last year to get a good idea of his game. his perimeter skills are much better than people think:
