In comics form The Avengers is a bit of a mess and transferring them into movies is even worst so it does not hold very well. That's why X-Men excelled at both in comics and in movies.
The first was OK and pretty well liked, the 2nd was almost universally hailed as one of the best superhero movies of all time, the 3rd was hot garbage, as was Wolverine: Origins, and First Class was pretty good and well-received with some awesome acting. Been something of a mixed bag, but good overall.
Captain America outfit looks dumb. Other than that, ok that second trailer actually has me hyped for this movie.
I disagree. The Spiderman suit looks great in all three movies. They just messed with the Cap suit too much.
I could watch Scarlett Jo stand there and look pretty all day long. In fact, I think that's what I'm gonna do.
Why would they release this the same day was the nfl draft? Those two events at the same time will take away from the ratings and box office money.
its releasing in the UK a week earlier, comes out in the US on May 4th in other words, you'll see the bootleg online before it hits US theaters.....
Ok that giant dragon-ship-thing at the end definitely looks awesome, so maybe this will be slightly better than I have been hoping. The question I have is, will the movie have the TIME to properly set itself up? There are three things which need to be seriously addressed at the beginning of the movie: 1) Thor. How does he get back to Earth? Does he find his Padme again? Or that totally glossed-over? 2) Hulk. How does Banner suddenly have the ability to control the Hulk? How and why? 3) Hawkeye. He has no previous movie to establish who he is, his character, at ALL, except for a very slight cameo in Thor. Either he just 'shows up' like in Thor, or the movie is going to have to establish him as well. We know enough about Black Widow, Captain America and Iron man from the previous movies, so there should not be much time spent on them in the set-up, but the other three characters really need some blanks filled at the beginning of the movie, or else it's going to lose a lot of people. So, is this going to be like a 2 & 1/2 hour movie? I have not heard anything on the running time, but it is going to need some serious time to get these characters all rolling and let them breathe. Not only that, but the trailers obviously show that significant time is spent just trying to work out the team's pecking order, with the shots of Cap and Iron Man fighting with Thor, so, my fear is that this ends up basically just being another 'origin story', just about the origins of the Avengers, instead of just going ahead and giving us a full-bore Avengers yarn. So, while I am really really hoping that it manages to be something great and fun and awesome, I have this little fear in the back of my mind that it may end up like the Fantastic Four movie, which was just such a tremendous disappointment.
