    From that same article:

[rquoter]The Celtics visited Cleveland on Tuesday, and the majority of the talk centered around a deal that would send center Jermaine O’Neal to Minnesota for Beasley. O’Neal is solid, but often-injured, causing some to wonder why the Wolves would be interested in such a deal.

However, the salaries match, and O’Neal’s $6.2 million comes off the books at season’s end.

“Minnesota is dangling Beasley to see what else they can get, but I’d be surprised if this wasn’t the deal they eventually made by the (March 15) trading deadline,” one source said. “The Celtics, of course, would love it.”[/rquoter]

Remember last offseason when Miami was desperate to ditch Beasley for just about anything? And Morey just stood pat? Since then, all Beasley has shown is that he's the same player as usual with incredible physical gift and little else. A crappy version of Rudy Gay, if you will.

I'm guessing if Morey did bother to make the Wolves an offer, it would basically be our 09er expirings and maybe a 2nd round pick. In other words nothing.

since they;re after a lakers pick (a lakers pick may as well be called a lotto protected pick), you could lottery protect that ny pick as well, as unlikely as it seems now that they'll miss the playoffs

I could see us getting beasley. It fits:
    1. Young / high potential
    2. Strong connections with minny( mchale&adelman)
    3. Service-able contract/ position of need

wow. i didn't realize how young beasley was. he just turned 23. i could have sworn he was a little bit older than that. let's take a shot at him.

Beasley is well worth a mid to late first round pick. He is only 23 years old (and younger than everyone's new darling Jeremy Lin) and has proven that he can score in this league. Yes he has some issue above the shoulders but nothing that can not be fixed with some maturation and coaching. This guy was a high lottery pick and has high lottery pick talent.

Maybe we can sneak in and get Paul Pierce, KG or Ray in return to boost our roster ... Ray for 6th man, Pierce as starting SF or KG as starting PF/C would be nice for the playoffs!

For only a 1st round pick (NY), get it done Morey. I hope we can trade for him because if he gets significant time, he can roll some heads. If Kevin Love wasn't there, he would get 10 rebounds a game easily.

NO. Do not want to trade that pick. It is ludicrous to trade our only draft pick in the upcoming draft for Beasley. Does Minny need more picks? no.

morey has shown talent at the draft and his real strength is draft time. minny would do kevin martin twice a day for beasley. we are not going anywhere, why not get a young player in beasley and free up capspace and save les some money? we all love our owner, why not save some money for him?

    No. He doesn't.

Seriously, guys, don't act like just because he burns us, that he does this to other teams on a regular basis. Beasley's just another Rudy Gay. He's flashy and a high pick, so this board like it always does treats him like he'll be a star, when after two years where he can do what he likes in Minny, it's clear he won't.

    Michael Beasley is extremely tempting.

I'm not sure I would give up a Morey draft selection, but I would certainly give them Budinger, which would make both teams WAY better, imo.
