Really? What do you think Obama's role has been in the following: • Continued War on Drugs, including the raiding of medical cannabis dispensaries • Extension of Patriot Act • Enacted NDAA • Afghanistan Troop Surges (more American troops dead than Bush) • Libya • Innocent children slaughtered by covert drones and cluster bombs • American citizens assassinated with no due process • 6 whistleblowers charged under the World War 1 era Espionage Act – more than any other administration in history • The Fed able to dole out trillions to bankers in secret • Substantially higher risk of war with Iran (fought by the U.S. or by Israel with U.S. support)" And that's just the crap that liberals supposedly dislike... I will be nice and wont bring up unconstitutional healthcare mandates etc.
So, it is your opinion that Obama did all of this stuff himself unilaterally and *I* am the one living in denial? GUFFAW I disagree with the War on Drugs in its entirety, I am on record as saying exactly what I would do instead. However, it isn't any more Obama's fault than it was Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan, Carter, Ford, or Johnson's fault before him. Nixon deserves a significant amount more blame than those other guys, but even he was just bowing to the idiotic arguments used against drugs and drug users for very nearly a century. I similarly disagree with the extension of the PATRIOT Act and at least one provision of the NDAA, but I completely understand why Obama signed both bills. As far as I'm concerned, he did the right thing in Afghanistan, but it will likely prove to be WAY too little, WAY too late. Bush lost Afghanistan for us by invading Iraq. I see Obama's supporting the overthrow of a tyrant (Gaddafi) who was killing civilians as the right thing to do. Even better, Obama's path accomplished the goal without losing a single American life. I believe that the drone and bomb attacks on Al Quaeda have caused far less collateral damage and loss of civilian life than the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan have caused. A single American citizen who was clearly an enemy of the state, living in a foreign country and plotting attacks on America is hardly a figure I sympathize with. Get back with me when Obama orders the slaughter of a family in Des Moines for watching Fox. I am not privy to the inner machinations of the DoJ, but I somehow doubt that Obama put his personal mark of approval on these cases. Seems to me that the prosecutors have a lot of latitude in bringing and prosecuting these kinds of things, the President, not so much. You realize that happened when Bush was President, right? You think there is a higher risk of war with Iran under an Obama administration than any of his potential opponents in November? Under "denial" in the dictionary, is your image listed as a prime example? Good thing too, given that it is the SCOTUS and not random posters on a basketball BBS who determine the constitutionality of our laws.
....what about his 16 yr old son? Look, I don't think anyone has sympathy for the guy or thinks he wasn't a bad guy - the principle is the problem here. The President has asserted the right to assassinate US citizens without trial. While the federal government hasn't abused it yet, letting them have that kind of power creates a massive potential for abuse. This is why the founders of the constitution had the right of due process for US citizens written into the constitution...

Come on man. No this will not lead to the federal government sending out CIA operatives to assassinate plain Jane citizen. It is meant so that people like that scumbag can be taken out. His son was a tragic, unfortunate casualty.
There is a difference between idealism and pragmatism. You kinda need some of both. rant on kids support the lesser of the possible evils old dudes.
I guess some people have a lot more trust in the government than others. I happen to agree with the founders on this one... If your son was killed by the government while he was in a backyard barbecue, would you feel the same way?...
This one paragraph sums up your complete idolatrous delusion and renders the rest of your opinions to be the sickly garbage that it is. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/obamas-war-on-pot-20120216 NOT OBAMA'S FAULT Back when he was running for president in 2008, Barack Obama insisted that medical mar1juana was an issue best left to state and local governments. "I'm not going to be using Justice Department resources to try to circumvent state laws on this issue," he vowed, promising an end to the Bush administration's high-profile raids on providers of medical pot, which is legal in 16 states and the District of Columbia. NOT OBAMA'S FAULT But over the past year, the Obama administration has quietly unleashed a multi*agency crackdown on medical cannabis that goes far beyond anything undertaken by George W. Bush. The feds are busting growers who operate in full compliance with state laws, vowing to seize the property of anyone who dares to even rent to legal pot dispensaries, and threatening to imprison state employees responsible for regulating medical mar1juana. With more than 100 raids on pot dispensaries during his first three years, Obama is now on pace to exceed Bush's record for medical-mar1juana busts. "There's no question that Obama's the worst president on medical mar1juana," says Rob Kampia, executive director of the mar1juana Policy Project. "He's gone from first to worst." NOT OBAMA'S FAULT The federal crackdown imperils the medical care of the estimated 730,000 patients nationwide – many of them seriously ill or dying – who rely on state-sanctioned mar1juana recommended by their doctors. In addition, drug experts warn, the White House's war on law-abiding providers of medical mar1juana will only drum up business for real criminals. "The administration is going after legal dispensaries and state and local authorities in ways that are going to push this stuff back underground again," says Ethan Nadelmann, director of the Drug Policy Alliance. Gov. Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, a former Republican senator who has urged the DEA to legalize medical mar1juana, pulls no punches in describing the state of affairs produced by Obama's efforts to circumvent state law: "Utter chaos." NOT OBAMA'S FAULT MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano defended Washington's drug war strategy on Monday despite calls by some Latin American leaders to consider decriminalizing narcotics. Napolitano, who is touring Mexico and Central America to strengthen security cooperation, said the United States would continue assisting efforts by Latin Americans to go after producers and traffickers in the region despite relentless drug-related violence. "I would not agree with the premise that the drug war is a failure," Napolitano said. "It is a continuing effort to keep our peoples from becoming addicted to dangerous drugs." 5:38 p.m. CST, February 27, 2012 http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/sns-rt-us-mexico-drugstre81q2ca-20120227,0,5549922.story The executive branch (specifically the USDOJ) has the sole power to determine where drugs are classified under the Controlled Substances Act. The USDOJ has assigned that power to the DEA. If the President were to insist that the recommendations of the last two DEA Administrative Law judges to study the issue be followed (both of whom recommended a reclassification of cannabis), that could be done without the need for Congressional or judicial involvement. Yes, I do believe in the United States government and don't try to confuse/ make the issue extreme to prove your point. The kid died because he was with his father, the radical terrorist who was on a most wanted list and was being actively and very publicly hunted, not chilling by the pool, don't be ridiculous.
hightop, is the raiding of cannabis dispensaries that are operating illegally really at the top of your list? grow up, dude.
The medical mj laws did not envision bricks of laundered cash, cross-country transport and interstate sale of large quantities of mj, massive amounts of advanced weapons, or the collusion and organization of some of the growers/distributors. Most, if not all of the folks targeted are not mom and pop growing a little to help Grannie deal with cancer.
Back to a topic even vaguely relevant to "2012 GOP Presidential Primary," we have this analysis of the newly proposed Romney tax cuts. The tab? Oh, a new $3.4 Trillion in debt. Nice, brah! http://money.cnn.com/2012/02/29/news/economy/romney_tax_deficit/index.htm?iid=HP_LN
Now hypocrite libs support the War on Drugs. They will do anything to keep Obama's juicy wang in their mouths. Dissension from Dear Leader means you must "grow up". The United States of America has an incarceration rate of 743 per 100,000 of national population (as of 2009), the highest in the world.[2] In comparison, Russia has the second highest 577 per 100,000, Canada is 123rd in the world with 117 per 100,000, and China has 120 per 100,000.[2] While Americans only represent about 5 percent of the world's population, one-quarter of the entire world's inmates are incarcerated in the United States.[3] According to a US Department of Justice report published in 2006, over 7.2 million people were at that time in prison, on probation, or on parole. That means roughly 1 in every 32 Americans are held by the justice system.[4][5] According to the International Centre for Prison Studies (ICPS) at King's College London, of that 7.2 million, 2.3 million were in prison. The People's Republic of China comes in second place with 1.6 million, despite its population being over four times that of the United States.[6] In 2004, a majority of state inmates (53 percent) and almost half of federal inmates (45 percent) had used drugs in the year before their admission to prison.[7] Among the prisoners, drug offenders made up the same percentage of State prisoners in both 1997 and 2004 (21%). The percentage of Federal prisoners serving time for drug offenses declined from 63% in 1997 to 55% in 2004.[8] In the twenty-five years since the passage of the Anti-Drug Abuse Act, the United States penal population rose from around 300,000 to more than two million.[9] Between 1986 and 1991, African-American's women's incarceration in state prisons for drug offenses increased by 828 percent.[10]
in Virginia it is Ron Paul vs. Mitt Romney, and we got to hear Ron Paul remarks towards Mitt in Virginia a couple nights ago. Too bad this wasn't announced before Paul's speech lol
