Of course, the Lakers can always hold on to what they have and look to, for example use the Odom TPE to fill holes while keeping Gasol. But such a move carry costs of its own. Anyhow, the Lakers are said to be willing to trade Gasol for Rondo or Lowry. So, they are likely not 100% enamored with their options without dealing Gasol I think Granger gives them something close to what Rondo and Lowry are-- a player one step or two below the elite. Maybe throwing a draft pick or so LA's way would close the deal.
Dragic/Lee (Llull buyout in offseason) Martin/Lee Pierce/Parsons Gasol/Patterson Dalembert/Patterson Championship contender for this season and next?
Not sure if Boston would agree to trade BOTH Rondo and Pierce in this deal with only Lowry in return. Also, I don't think there are enough expiring contracts to go around to make the $ work.
There are, but Boston would have to do some waiving of garbage players on their roster. We could probably include Morris if necessary to sweeten the deal. I'm sure you would love that
do you think Dragic could handle the reigns for that line-up? (not to mention Flynn being the primary back-up) Spoiler it's definitely intriguining, and truly an "all-in" scenario considering the size and length of Pierce and Pau's contract. what are your thoughts beyond this season? Dragic is an UFA, so bringing him back would be tough.
We wouldn't even have Flynn because we would need his expiring to make the money match. We'd have to sign a vet min, D-leaguer, or trade someone like Budinger for a backup point guard. I don't think Dragic would have to do a whole lot offensively with the combination of Pierce (who is kind of a point forward), Martin, and Lee.
76ers out: Iguodala 76ers in: R.Allen, J.Hill, LAC 1st (from BOS) - This allows Turner to play his natural point-forward spot, Allen gives an ideal complement at the two for now. Hill is needed frontcourt youth/depth, and they get a late 1st. Celtics out: R.Allen, LAC 1st Celtics in: K.Martin - Celtics get a younger SG who also scores efficiently without the ball. The LAC 1st will be late, so this upgrade is worth it. They just need to deal for a young C next. Rockets out: K.Martin, J.Hill Rockets in: Iguodala - This drastically improves the perimeter D, and gives us athleticism and a guy who plays both ends. Dalembert/Smith? Scola/Patterson Iguodala/Budinger Lee/Williams Lowry/Dragic
Following the the Pierce/Gasol thing to its logical conclusion, let's say New Jersey determines they're going to strike out on the Howard sweepstakes and decides to trade D-Will. Houston in: Deron Williams Minnesota in: Kevin Martin Chase Budinger Second round pick New Jersey in: Derrick Williams Martell Webster Rockets' First round pick from New York Knicks D-Will/Dragic Lee/Dragic Pierce/Parsons Gasol/Patterson Dalembert/Patterson Cap space becomes a big concern as we wind up in the luxury tax unless D-Will takes less money to play with us. But that's a pretty wicked team.
i envision something similiar to this deal happening... but not quite this deal.. the way i see it is the lakers need to recieve a pg... also dont know if they take on hedo's contract...heres my two likely scenarios based off your original... this is them taking on hedo's contract... http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7kb5wz5 this is them not taking on hedo's contract... http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7wara48 either way i accept both trade proposals.... and i especially accept the op's original trade proposal(however unlikely)... truth is dwight says he doesnt want to play second fiddle to kobe but he really wouldnt... maybe the first two years, but kobe is got alot of mileage on his legs and they are looking for the "new" face of the lakers...
Don't understand where you're going with this? The Lakers won't part with Gasol and Bynum for the privilege of renting Howard. Neither would you.
Twill and Hill to Cavs for Hollins or Erden or 2nd round picks. They got guys like Eyenga, Alozo Gee, Harongody, Samardo playing for them. Im sure T-Will and Hill can crack the rotation. They might even help them reach the playoffs and kick the Knicks out. (Joking)
Where did you discuss Boston trading for Lowry... and why do we do that. Neither Gasol or Dwill are heads better than Lowry at this point. Howard however is a major upgrade over anyone mentioned.
Trade Scola at all cost. I love him as a person but clearly isn't what he was the last few years. I would love to trade him for any decent bench big man of PF, or if we could get more than that i am all for it.
Ok. Found your post. Risky move still because Pierce and Gasol have a 2 year window. Aging Big 3 versus Miami, Bulls, OKC BTW you just can't make a trade because you feel we can give up anyone we want... and the other team just says OK to any of our offers.
No. But the possibility is close to zero that a major trade is following by another trade. Usually it takes more than a year to make a follow up trade. and that is not a given. You have to link to your other post.... you think everyone has the time to go back and read all of your trade proposals
