Perhaps a better comparison was not firing Kubiak last year.

Texans records before this past year:
    8-8
    8-8
    9-7
    6-10

I'd rather be running on a treadmill while competing for the playoffs and watching our players increase their value while playing well than to be on that treadmill the Clippers (until this year), Nets, Wizards, et al. have been on for years.

If I didn't love this team so much, I'd wish that on them just so some you could take time and enjoy this team that is 7 games over .500. Instead of whining, try embracing guys like Lowry, Parsons and Scola who are playing their asses off every night.

I think the Texans' success plays a part in this too. I would take a lot to equal it on an emotional level.

    It's also a b*stard lockout season.

We have no young, exciting stars and no direction.

Stern's trade rejection might, like me, have left a bad taste in people's mouth.

Even the Rockets first Championship season didn't have sellout playoff games until we tied it up with Phoenix. That was the birth of Clutch City.

I really haven't felt that optimistic about this franchise since the 2005 team, when we lost to the mavs.

Loved that team. Our fight against the Lakers a few years ago was awesome with those amazing scola starts to the games. But signified the end of our stars.

I don't think we're on a treadmill anyway. Our team is young and we have tons of caspace next year.

Seriously, Kyle Lowry says "**** all you haters". He's a no-talent, no-hustle, clown of a pg.

Agreed. And picking a direction and implementing it a) isn't always clear to those not behind the scenes and b) aren't typically implemented immediately after the previous plan was proven not to work.

These type of things can changed with a winning streak.

Going by that logic I guess there is only one contender for a championship this year?

Houston fans are bad and bandwagoners/frontrunners. When the team is winning the fans are awesome and loud, but they will abandon the team as soon as they start to lose.

Pathetic fanbase, I am ashamed to be apart of the Houston Rockets fanbase. I support the Rockets and would watch even if they went 0-82.

Houston might have the worst fans in all of sports.

I'm there with you and have become much more enamored with this current roster than I was previously. But I don't think the whining you're seeing here in this thread is as much about the team as it is about the front office and the way they communicate about their "assets."

But the actual team still had a hell of a lot if talent and promise. A lot of people did think that kubiak was what was holding them back. But the team still had that ability to break out.

And the hiring of Wade was enough to make me satisfied, didn't know the turn around would be that extensive, but knew they'd be better off with Kubiak only focusing on offense.

My problem isn't really with the coach of the Rockets, rather they seem stuck. No identity. Crappy draft positions because they are mediocre overall but don't suck enough to get that big pick to land a future star.

No, but I think you need to at least get to the 2nd round.

One more time.....it's not about the team or the current rec.....

Forget it. I give up. I guess I'm just a bad fan.

So why let other people's views (the very same people everyone's upset cause they can't pick a direction...that's what they're trying to do by turning these players into tradeable pieces!) hamper your own perception of the team.

Making the playoffs will probably re-kindle some interest in the team. However, the lack of a star is always going to affect ratings amongst the bandwagon fans.

The little battle tank Lowry is the only one that I consider a piece for the future of this team.

I love Scola, but Kevin's coaching has ruined his game. He needs the post up ISO.

I'll continue to follow and root on the team. Just wish we had a visible future with these assets.

I think the loyal Houston fans are smart enough to hold management accountable for putting a mediocre product on the floor, night in and night out.

We have a hustling, hard working group, who gets a lot out of their abilities, yet that is generally not enough during the playoffs.

And to top it off, we have a team of floppers - something that is not popular with a lot of fans - I personally hate players who flop, can't stand that part of the game, and we have a ton of them, in Lowry, Kmart, Scola, heck almost all of our primary players.

Then you top that off with management constantly talking about trading anyone to get better and you get a bunch of fans feeling apathetic.

I will always watch them, but until they put a product on the court that seems to have a core they will build around, I will always be watching for that next big trade.

Instead of cheering for wins, we are reduced to cheering for a trade.

    YIPPEEE !!!!!.....

And the wins are stinking ugly, we don't have a cohesive offense, we are barely beating teams (look at the pts differential), it is just ugly to watch.

I guess at the end, it is boring.

Which isn't even guaranteed anyway. We have four lotto picks from a draft less than three years ago, none of whom make any sort of real impact on the team (Hill does every fifth game or so). Why do people feel like getting a high draft pick guarantees a Kevin Durant or Derrick Rose.
