We are ****ed by big teams who play big down low.

    Lakers and Clippers.

We can compete with everyone else.

So? Since shoes add about an inch to height, worst case scenario is that our guys are about average height. Best case scenario is that the guys we've been drafting lately are taller than average (Parsons and Motie, specifically). My point remains.

I'm talking specifically about this forum. And though attendance and tv ratings may be down, people that exhibit such pessimism seem to have grown in population here. It's tired.

I can understand arresting our own unrealistic hopes only to have them trampled over at the end of the season. But it's gotten ridiculous this year.

It seems like users here go from one extreme to the opposite with regularity. We've got fans here that get excited about a player that has never gotten regular minutes in our rotation being a potential all-star, and then a month later we see people talking about how this team is made up of fool's gold, that we can't keep winning, while an all-star is being born in front of our very eyes.

Since the middle of January we've been one of the top 5 teams in the NBA. And these people can't even see that. It's sad.

There has been so much talk about needing a superstar player, and yet here we are in the midst of watching a star be born (KLow). I don't think people fully understand what's happening. This season he's getting superstar calls, media talks about him as an all-star, he's finishing clutch plays that superstars make, he's leading the team like only superstars do. He's become our star player and has been developing since joining us, continuing to get better throughout each season he's played.

We haven't had this happen before our own eyes since Hakeem (to be clear, I'm not comparing KLow to Hakeem as no one compares to the Dream...but it's the process of becoming a star that I'm talking about).

I think we can beat the Lakers. Only teams I think we have no shot against are OKC Clipps and Denver when they have Nene Gally Chandler.

I've lived away from Houston since 1997, but when I get a chance to attend a game I am the loudest most excited fan in the section. Sometimes it's hard to do that when there's so much silence around. But I like to think that I'm paving the way for other fans to get excited while there. :)

I agree. I think a lot of Rockets fans are acting like its cool to hate on the Rockets. Somehow, saying the Rockets are bad makes you a smarter and better fan.

Me too, when I can get away with it  not very healthy screamning "GO ROCKETS" while runnning through the AA Center in Dallas.

No doubt. I'm personally kinda tired of people feeling the need to remind others that they just don't like the Rockets as much as they used to. If you don't, that's fine, just take that away from here. It amuses me that so many claim they have no interest, yet can't stop telling us how much.

STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT!

You know that with a losing streak we'll be out of the playoffs? THAT MIGHT ACTUALLY HAPPEN.

why are people so scared of flop city. with the casualty of billups, they're just the new orleans hornets in lala land. No way that ginger can elevate his game like David West did when he faced the rockets. Dude would go into beast mode and we still played them close.

I can't wait to play them with a healthy lowry and the emergence of parsons.

Spurs, you'd better get home court advantage. Lakers, they're just too big. I'd rather face OKC than the lakers.

Chandler Parsons will be the key to beating OKC.

This team has been a pleasant surprise thus far.. so I wouldn't doubt them being able to upset any of the top teams in the west come playoff time... but having said that, there's A LOT of games left and the season is far from over. I love how this team is playing.. full-on bulldog effort every night!! K-Low is beasting, Parsons is incredible on D, bench has been doing their thing!! Go Rockets!!!

    This.

Seems like there is a good chunk of people who are sticking to their pessimistic guns. Don't care what they see from the team all year, just want to hate and hope that we lose so they were "right" all along. Pretty sad if you ask me.

Nobody. They're not going to determine playoffs or champions this year on the court. It's all about the team's direction.

    great post!!!!!!!

Finally we have a great team, with a Star (lowry), two elite player (Scola and Martin), one C (when sam is on, is a top 10 C in the leage) and a lot of young player growin every minute, with a exelent coach and the great GM Morey + Donatas + Llull + NY pic +
Present is great. Future can be even better
And some people saying "Martin is trash, trade Scola, lowry is no so great, bring Chuck back, Tank is the answer"
Everybody can say wath they want, buy they are loosing agreat moment.

whatever. nothin anybody can do to make you naive people, or "optimistic" as you call yourselves, change your minds. The rockets will be no where near 4th come playoff time. 7th-9th much more likely.

PPat - a future all star.
    Klow - future all star
Parsons - he is a badd azz
Kmart - has the numbers to be an all star
Scola - euro MVP, and Euro all star
Dragic - he is a bad azz

    - we are tied for 4th, but listed as 5th seed. I dont think we should blow - up the team just to land a "current" all star.
