Its a fact that they were both not playing at their bests tonight. Not only tonight, but it has become obvious that we can win games without them. The starters would be better defensively without them. Patterson would do wonders with those type of minutes as a starter.

They need to play exceptionally well on offense to make up for their below average defense. And it just hasnt been happening and never will. Especially for Scola. But I wouldnt trade them for anything though, Scola+Martin deserves an all-star in return.
What do you know? artest used to drink hennessy before playing everygame, and vlade divac used to smoke alot of cigarettes, yet still had enough wind to run up and down the floor everygame.
I guess that what she says..... I am a firm believer that you have to give up a lot on the other positions to make those two work... for instance.... scoring at the SF position, C position to surround them with capable help defenders and rim protectors. Are they worth it.... Yeah... but I guess they are not the No.1 reason we are at the 5th spot, were at 4th. I give them credit though that they have been improving from a sluggish start.
This is spot on, but my question is who fits as that player? Who is going to come in here and fill the scoring of both? Scoring in the post by Scola and the ability to get points in a hurry by drawing fouls and getting to the line by Martin. The issue everyone has is defense which i agree with as well. Put yourself in their shoes you are the subject of trade rumors daily and you are expected to pretend like everything is great and be the main scorers on the team and play the best defense on the team. Look at the starting 5 Dalember, Lowry, & Parsons are not trying to score at all or very limited. Parsons is just like Battier except without a shot and Dalember offensive game is very limited and Lowry gives up open shots to get others involved which he should hes the pg. Gasol is not the answer, what about the fact he doesnt even want to be here? His salary? His defense? Scoring? Is this not if anything a lateral move? What makes him better for the Rockets? Does Kobi not make his game better by setting him up and drawing double teams? To me you are giving up alot of talent for a taller version of Scola with shot blocking ability.

Scola: Yes Martin: NO KMART is an elite player offensively and has improved on defense that he is no longer the liability that he used to be. Coach just needs to run more plays for him to get him open looks.
Top rebounder and second scorer tonight, yet fans bashing him, incredible. Scola is not at his best shape after surgery, on top of that, the tight schedule due the lockout, that hurts the game of a non-athletic player. However, when playoff time arrives, his superior basketball IQ will boost his performance, added to the fact that schedule will help a little more (no back to backs anymore to hurt performance).
