Miracle? I would have to disagree. We have only $30M on the books next season (and if we amnesty Scola, $21M). Proper cap usage (perhaps taking on a good player on a bad contract if we have to) can get this team on the right track (especially with a nice building block in Lowry and nice assets like Montejunas, Llull, Morris maybe Patterson/Parsons in the right deal, picks). We nearly got an All-Star bigman for KMart/Scola/Dragic before Stern ****ed us out of it, I don't think it is too much of a stretch to build a contending team here.
I think being the 4th seed is a little bit of a stretch for us, but we are definitely in the mix for a 6-8th seed maybe 5
that could happen to any team, and the rockets could move up on the standings or staying at #4, but I agree is way to early.
I hope we can compete with the Clippers this week and show how far they have come since the first week of the season...I think we might play them in the playoffs as a 6/3, 4/5, or 5/4 matchup
We can barely beat the Raptors without their best player at home. I am just happy to make the playoffs.
division trumps conference, but Dallas would still beat us in a tiebreaker. http://www.nba.com/statistics/playoff_picture.html
If the season ended with the Rockets in 4th, they wouldn't have to upset anyone. Some other team would have to upset them. The top 4 play the bottom 4.
Dallas has us easily beat in both. looks like we will have to take 2 out of 3 from them to avoid a tiebreaker scenario.
