After the Republicans have virtually shutdown Congress with the Tea Party House and the filibustering Senate, why would the public vote more Republicans into office?

Olympia Snowe has decided not to run for reelection, which is huge. Hopes for the Democratic Party to hold the Senate just went up, folks. Snowe would have easily won another term. I'm now predicting that the seat will go Democratic.

 

Typical hate rhetoric with absolutely no substance. You really wonder why the GOP has no chance in the election this year?

 

'Racist' is a misnomer and propaganda weapon. It is used to deflect legitimate criticism and questions about Black people.

In all seriousness, this type of rhetoric runs rampant in many GOP circles and commentators (ie Rush, Coulter, Beck, Levin, etc).

What makes it challenging is that this type of rhetoric has really become the nature of politics. There were numerous attacks on Bush and Cheney's appearance, intelligence, and the like, so it's somewhat expected that the GOP would adopt a similar posture against Obama.....

 

If it wasnt clear, I wasnt attempting to defend bigtexxx as much as I was placing him as a microcosm of the GOP establishment, and to a certain extent, political rhetoric as a whole.

And I dont remember anyone calling Jr a whitey, but I certainly remember many sexist remarks directed against Sarah Palin that went largely uncontested....
