If NASCAR had started the (pre) season the week after the Super Bowl like usual, none of this would've happened. The Universe didn't want NASCAR to push everything back a week.
That sucks. Biff wussed out and wouldn't try to take the lead. The most boring man in NASCAR wins the race. Oh well, good race though.
biffle didn't even try to win. I don't understand it. Kenseth already has a daytona win. Why did it do that?
You should follow Kenseth on Twitter. He is one of the funniest guys in sports IMO. Anyway, I don't think Biff's car had the power to get past Kenseth. Shoot, Jr. and Biff were paired up and still couldn't make a run on the 17. I think if Jr. made a move going into 3 instead of coming out of 4, he may have had a shot.
If football didn't threaten to have a lockout this would have happened. They didn't want to happen to compete with a Sunday Super Bowl so they pushed the race back. And damnit, that wreck into the truck was rad and everything, but I HAVE A BEDTIME! Put duct tape down, make a ramp and just jump that part of the track. They could get like 10 feet of air.
Nascar today came out and not only okayed Brad Keslowski's use of twitter during the race last night, but even encouraged it (as long as it isn't a safety hazard). I think that is a great move. The guy gained over 100k followers just during the fire stoppage. He was tweeting pics, talking to fans and answering questions during the whole wait. It's a really cool way to interact with fans during the race. In a sport where sponsorship is everything, I expect to see others using this to reach fans and increase their exposure.
The more you watch nascar the more you realize that half the fun of watching it is the storylines. Instead of piledriving you (wrestling) they wreck you on sunday, every week their is a build up to a feud. It's not just going around in a circle. There are heals: kyle busch, face (dale jr), fan fav (mark martin.) It's basically wrestling on wheels.
agreed with all this. have become a fan relatively recently after always hating it for no good reason while never having even watched.
