I'm with Phillyrocket. There were a large number of events that could be labeled "it"

Are we talking about the Red Wedding?

That's what I was talking about and the spot the show creators would like to get to.

Yes, of course I was talking about the Red Wedding. What else what "it" be? Red Wedding may be the most shocking event amongst all five books, but it's definitely the most shocking event of book three. I mean, he basically takes out a whole faction in one fell swoop. And they're supposed to be the "good guys," as far as there are any in these books.

I didn't find it that shocking. After Robb married that girl, I assumed the Freys would kill him. Once they set up that wedding and all of Robb's war planning, Martin was all but screaming that it would happen. It certainly is one of the most pivotal moments in the series as far as balance of power goes. You also lost two POV characters, but as far as "it" moments, you could put Joffrey's death, Tynin's death, or even Jon Snow's election as equally dramatic moments.

I just read the whole series straight through for the first time the past six or seven weeks. Book three is certainly the novel where the most stuff goes down and turns expectations on their head.

I concur, the spoilers really are spoilers. If I put something in spoilers its probably pretty pivitol stuff.

i don't think this is the "it". Others have mentioned the right one that the shows creators have implied. A lot of things happen to jaimie and I wish they let us know what happens to him (with the whole brienne thing) but they didnt.

The 1st season did a really nice job of following the book with a few exceptions. But just from watching the trailers it looks like the second season might not follow the CoK as closely or that they might include some parts of SoS in this season.

I don't remember Rob ever talking to Jamie in the 2nd book. There is lots of talk of Jamie to be sure but the only thing of any importance that I can think of that the producers might want to show is the attempted escape that lands Jamie deep in the dungeons. Other than that I don't think Jamie makes an apperance in the book until the end after Cat gets word of Ricken and Bran getting murdered by Theon.

Also the exchange (in the trailer) between Rob and Jamie where Jamie says, "Three victories don't make you a king" and Rob replies "Three victories are better than three defeats" sounds like I line I thought Rob had sad to someone else but I don't remember. I thought in the book that it was Rob that said "Three victories do not win a war" or something to that effect.

Does anyone think in the 3rd season that the producers will allow Jamies hair to be shaven off? I'm thinking not, much like they made Tyrion somewhat decent looking and always put him in very nice armor instead of the mismatch armor he always wore.

Also it looks like Rob is starting his relationship with his wife in that trailer which he does not do until book 3.

Does anyone have a favorite scene in the book they are really wanting to see? I can't wait to see the scene between Theon and Asha when the see each other for the 1st time in a decade.

    Regarding makeup and appearance
I wonder what they're going to do to Tyrion after the Battle of the Blackwater and with Jaime after he's had his hand amputated.

I'm guessing they will completely leave out the fact that the end of Tyrions nose gets whacked off just like the other physical deformities that they left out.

With Jamie I'm curious what they will do with him as well. Jamie getting his hand whacked off is a pretty major part of the book and what goes into Jamies mental make up. I'm still reading SoS so there is still much for me to learn about what happens to Jamie with out his hand so it's really hard for me to comment about what HBO might do but I am curious.

One of the scenes that "seems early", actually is not:

Timeline wise, Catelyn hears in Chapter 46 of Book 2 that Robb and Company are marching to fight in the Crag, the seat of House Westerling. Its there he hooks up with Jeyne. So in essence the scene with Robb and Jeyne totally occurs during the Clash of Kings period, its just referred to in the past when Robb finally returns to Riverrun at the beginning of Book 3.

Is that Strong Belwas I see at the 47s mark or does he come later? I get my timelines confused. If so shouldn't he be much bigger?

I paused it there to see and I don't think thats him. I assume you looking at the guy to Danny's far right while they are facing some guards. Like you I think Belwas will be much bigger. Also, I don't see Arstan Whitebeard his squire anywhere.

Is Strong Belwas in CoK? I thought he was. I ask because he is an awesome character I want to see on screen.

Its going to feel much different for people regarding arston. In the book you can't see him so you can't tell who he resembles. When they cast him on the show its going to be out in the open so I think they aren't going to keep his identity too much of a secret

yes he is. And regarding that footage, i think thatas quarth b.c neither arston or belwas are there and they meet them when they are in quarth.
