Sooo rejecting Dwight for Bynum means they do not like Bynum? Interesting.

Obviously someone needs to send these idiots a memo in 24 point font with bold letters and all caps.

"HE IS NOT GOING TO STAY IN ORLANDO, IDIOTS. TRADE HIM."

If taking of the best centers for one that still wants to leave won't get it done, then Idk what else will. d12's value is plummeting by the day.

Probably a smart move for Otis Smith. Listen, there is a lot of pressure on the LAKERS to make that trade and he knows it. Sure, Dwight can go for nothing as well but Otis probably has other options (Nets, maybe Knicks, Golden State).

I think if the Lakers don't make a move, their fans, media and playes will blow up. And they don't want minor deal cause it doesn't help them, they do need a franchise changing type of deal.

What I am trying to say, Smith probably wants to get back Bynum AND Pau. What is more, he wants them to take Hedo Turkoglu's contract with Howard. So he is playing 'check' game with LA right now knowing that the pressure rises for them as well.

He's either going to the Nets or staying with the Magic.

For whatever reason, there are still a lot of folks in Orlando that think they can convince him to stay.

Truth be told, I'll be a bit sad when this whole saga is over. I find myself reading the Orlando Sentinel online just about every day. Being that the Magic are that city's only pro sports team, it has been pretty much Dwight Howard Watch 24/7.

I also think Bynum is still a polarizing player. There are still those people that are concerned about possible injury issues and there are others that are more concerned about maturity issues.

It makes sense. Why downgrade the position that your entire team is built around, yet can't get anywhere with. Better to trade for best available player...rather than trading for position of need...or stock up on picks.

Because Dwight is somewhat of a mental midget. Hes scared of scrutiny in the NY or LA markets and they he can protect himself from that by staying in ORL. After Lebron hes by far the most image conscious dude in the league, he doesn't want people to dislike him and he wants to pave his own way. One of the biggest reasons why his reps informed him he doesn't want to go to the Lakers or Clippers

Orlando could simply be posturing. They still got 2 weeks to make a deal so they should act like they are ready to take their chances up until the last moment even if they do want to trade him.

[rquoter]@_andresb: @LarryCoon Vecsey sez 2day ORL doesnt want Bynum & would settle 4 Lopez if King can do better, have u heard anything similar?

Yeah, that is why I've been saying NJ and not LA for the last two months.[/rquoter]

I do think there is the slightest of slight chances he stays not only beyond the trade deadline but into next year as well. Maybe a 10% or 20% chance? Ha. Maybe I'm reading too much into what he's saying though.

[rquoter]Dwight Howard tells USA TODAY his trade request still stands but staying in Orlando is a "big possibility."

    ...

...Asked if there's a future for him with the Magic, who had gotten back on track and entered the All-Star break as the Eastern Conference's third-best team, Howard said, "It's a big possibility. … It's a big possibility."

    ...

He had one last thought to consider. "Kobe (Bryant) asked to be traded, and look what happened."[/rquoter]

Come to Houston Howard!!! U can be the man in Houston...Houston is a franchise that has the most dominating centers in league history...Howard works with Olajuwon every off season so u have to consider he is close to him...imagine working with Olajuwon and working with McHale!!!!

More and more, I'm thinkin Howards not goin anywhere... He's just upping the ante in Orlando, meaning he wants a Kobe like existence where he has more input on the players they acquire...

Really don't understand why Magic don't trade Howard + Turky-glue to the Knicks for Melo and Chandler. Is it cause the Knicks don't do that deal?

    PG Lin / Diddy
    SG Fields / Shumpert
    SF Turky-Glue / Walker
    PF Stat / Novak
    C Howard

    PG Nelson
    SG J-Rich
    SF Melo
    PF Anderson
    C Chandler

Both teams get better. Is it too obvious?

Great move, but Chandler can't be traded until the restriction is up. The knicks should also look to move stat as well in another trade to the cavs for Jamison and Thompson. Cap space to sign lin and fields back as well as a pf with potential. Cavs get a true second option big for Irving.

    Lin
    Fields
    Turk
    Jamison/Thompson
    D12

Wouldn't want to play that team.

It means they realize the market is in their favor, and that they can keep him. There are no good big market teams(either LA team, Boston, Chicago, the Knicks) with cap space to offer Dwight a max deal at this time. Unless the Lakers find a way to free up enough cap space to offer Dwight a max deal, Orlando has a great chance to keep him.

They don't view New Jersey as a threat because the Nets suck(will Deron stay?), and he has to take 30 million less money to play there. Dallas will make a run at him, but it is not a prime media market, and again he would have to take a 30 million dollar discount to play there.
