Me and my girlfriend wanted an apartment to stay in so I signed a lease on Northborough Drive (Greenspoint - 77067) because it's near my office. I've done a little research and now I'm getting a little scared - not so much for my safety - but for her safety. Is this place really one of the most dangerous places in Houston or has the area cleaned up recently? Should I try to see if I can cancel my lease? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
If you can opt out now, LEAVE NOW... But if you must stay, just give it a chance, your curfew is 11 PM by the way... Anything after that, game over...

Get the hell out of Northborough asap. I work in the area that place has been bad since the 90's. If you can get out you better run out.

This. And like I said I work about .5 miles from the apartment for a very reputable company. The office is extremely nice. I had no idea that the area around it would be this dangerous. If it was just me I wouldn't even care but my girlfriend is small and asian. I'm extremely worried for her safety.
The area around it is dangerous and so are those apartments. They are considered the projects in that area.
The apartment complex has security. You think it'd be OK if me and my girl never left the apartment grounds on foot?
Believe me at night those security guys dont mean anything. If you move dont goto any of the camden apartments, apartments on ella, or shadow ridge
That area is awful, family owns a few businesses there.EXXON is based there but they are leaving very soon to the woodlands, many nice companies have big offices there so I can understand a newbie getting confused, but none of those apt even look remotely nice and I figure someone like you would notice the $400-$600 rent being a red flag, and of you're paying more than that you're being ripped off.
LOL, you're doing it wrong. When you go to a new city on business, you always stay somewhere temporary for a while until you get the lay of the land. If I were you, I'd leave immediately and just eat any costs associated with bailing. Seriously. I have a client off of Northchase and I hate driving there much less living there.
