I feel like people are harsh.

Everyone talks about Jordan - Dominique.

All of these dunks would be considered amazing in that era.

What? These dunks aren't amazing now and wouldnt be then...MJ and Nique's dunks were great then AND would be great now, just look at Jrich's win..he basically had nique's style and he put on a great show....these props just impress the teens because that's all they have really seen.

Bud winning may boost his confidence a bit and make him play better. Now he is just gonna continue to suck.

The skills challenge had 4 all stars and the 2 who've won the rookie/soph mvps in the last 2 years.

The 3 point challenge had a playoff between 2 all stars.

    The dunk contest had....

the 1% must have been his slight touch of the shoulder to avoid a P Biddy-bag

Derrick Williams did a windmill over a motorcycle.

Then Bud follows it up with a a simple windmill. Terrible and no Bud didn't deserve to win.

i really think thats all bud has in his arsenal.. wind-mill & a reverse... thats why he is a poor choice for thso contest and the dunk contest is a joke.. there are amateurs who would have shiit on all these guys tonight..

If someone did a 360 windmill in those days, it would've scored a 60

I remember Jordan doing like the free throw line dunk 3 years in a row, Dominique repeated his windmill a trillion times, and they both did the double clutch reverse in the same contest.

The poster said "all of these dunks".....you're pointing out one of 12 and it was probably the best one. Yes, MJ and nique repeated dunks, but they werent completely the same. Nothing wrong with repeating a dunk if it's still done well, that 360 windmill was a repeat itself.

And ya'll know who Bud should have jumped over? He should have had this person walk on to the court looking lost on their way to the bathroom...they then stop under the rim and look around, then Budinger comes out and just flies over them.

he just needs to be careful not to kill her :p , but that would have won it for him

    Everyone who watched lost though.

I didn't vote, I planned on but didn't care to after watching all of the dunks.

Also I don't think the contest is done because all of the dunks have been done. I think they need to take away the theatrical part to it.

    Dwight-Nate-Blake killed it.

    Nate with jumping over people.

Dwight with the whole Superman outfit

Blake finished it off. Jumping over the front of a car and having a choir to accompany him.

Just get back to the dunks.

Also no windmill is the same, no dunk from the FT line is the same. The best dunkers have flair to it and that's what we are missing. John Wall's behind the back dunk is the perfect example. He did it with flair. Hopefully he does the contest next year.

The funny thing was, if you put the dunks side by side, Bud would have easily cleared the motorcycle too. In addition, Williams actually grazed the motorcycle. It's all about the reaction of it. For example, Blake jumped over the front of a Kia. The Kia was parked at a point where the clearing point (left side of the hood) needs to be cleared. In reality, it's not that much higher than the motorcycle. The blindfold is one thing when Ceballos used it, but so much props nowadays it's ridiculous.

I mean, I understand WHY they're using props. It's because there's really not much else humanly possible that could be done that could be counted as "something new" Iguodala's dunk from behind the backboard was a breath of fresh air, but there really just isn't much. But the truth is, if it's a small wall, if it's a human standing there, or if it's a motorcycle. Physics-wise, there's really no difference. You clear what you need to clear to make that dunk.

The 2 ball dunk is not as easy. It might very well be one of the harder ones to pull off. But in reality, if he made 1, shouldn't that be it? I guess shooting 50% doesn't count as a "made dunk."

The Paul George thing was new, and the dunk was PROBABLY great, but turning off the lights might have very well done more harm than good. As for the dunk over Hibbert? He pushed off extremely hard on that hand. You could see Hibbert getting pushed lower and the bicep flexing trying to use it as a gymnastics vault or something. As for Bud's "push off," it actually looked like he was trying to make sure he cleared Pdiddy.

Finally, yes, I think Bud missed first one on purpose to sell the second one. Either way, I could imagine that the sight's pretty limited and the dunk was still pretty hard to see through. But..., the dunk without the blindfold would just be that... a 180 reverse. But the limited vision does make it relatively nice.

Williams shot himself in the foot for attempting dunks that he can't make. The winner got too much credit for jumping over something that he probably had to anyways in order to make the dunk (at least for his height). The mailman dunk was really no different and jump was nothing special. I think the winner of that contest should be Pdiddy's perfect pass for Bud. It was so perfect that Bud's dunk didn't look like it's too much. Parsons with the assist because he obviously tipped off when the pass should happen.

In all, the dunk contest is basically crap now. Without the stars, it just doesn't mean as much. With the stars, they can do stuff not as original and fans would still ooh and ahh. They should bring back the judge panel so they could understand what difficulty really means. Rookies and Sophmore game is not bad, but if they want to dunk so much in game, they can join the dunk contest. That last minute no defense stuff wore out after the one time LeBron and company did it. The skills contest was a joke because the players were not making early and late efforts. The kids would love the scholarship, but watching players prance to the last lapup was ridiculous. I understand you can't go full speed when doing the dribble turns, but to not go 100% on much else makes that event a joke.

3 point contest became star vs star and the celebrity game seems to be one of the better events so far. The dunk contest and Vince Carter was probably the worst thing that could've happened for All-Star Saturday. I think Vinsanity ruined things for future generation. Stars probably got such a big ego that they don't want to embarrass themselves. I hope, that somehow, things go back to the way they were.

what I'm more interested about is how Chase got P. Diddy to agree to be a props for his first dunk. Star power ...

one dunk Chase could have made would be one where he gets to highlight his vertical leap, like set up a height measurement or something and see how high he could get. I still remember his dunk vs. Boston during his rookie year when his head got to the top of the box on the board, if I remember correctly.
