Take a look at the dunk George did in the dark. How does it make sense?
Had he not pushed off Hibbert's back, I don't think he would have had the hops to get over Diddy on that dunk. The dark one was legit. The sticker one would have been good but I stopped paying attention after the fourth miss.
First time in years I didn't bother to watch the dunk contest. And reading the reactions, I made the right decision. It's time for Stern to put a $1.5-2 million pot for the dunk contest. LBJ/Griffin/WB/Wall/Iggy will all join. This is getting pathetic. The dunk contest was once a glorified event for the NBA, now it's just an event to fill up time.
Look at where Vince's body was when he slammed it. That was slightly more than 360 degrees. Pretty sure Vince's head got above the rim at one point.

Pause at the right moment at 12sec, he's near the rim but not at it with the top of his head. Very close though. And you can see that he's doing a basic 360, it would have to be reverse or he would have to finish with his body turning to the left side of the rim for it to be a 540. It's a textbook 360.
If you watch the point where Carter takes off, you see he has his body turned with his left shoulder to the rim. Completes the dunk with his head straight but spins over his right shoulder, so it's not even a 360 technically.
Every dunk is a copycat dunk at this point. Even Evans' two ball dunk was attempted by Michael Finley in 1997.
^^ Just compared the point where they take off and how they finish, exact same angle. Both with their left shoulder to the rim and completing it with their body straight to the rim. Carter jumped a bit higher, I give him that.
Glow in the dark thing is ok.... but it didn't have a nice effect. Nash with the head to Amar'e or with the foot was nice........
The money thing is irrelevant to these guys, it should be about competing against your most athletic fellows and having the DESIRE to prove to everyone that you're the best dunker in the NBA. I don't know how to make it happen that these guys participate, don't know if the NBA can enforce that somehow. It's the only way to make all these contests relevant again. 3pt contest should have Ray Allen vs. KD, Korver, Kapono, Dirk,... Only the best shooters in the NBA, not your token rookie or franchise guy etc. Skills Challenge has the best guys for the event I think, but sadly they don't seem to give a **** about winning or putting up a great time.

LOL they've already brought down the number of dunks. But if ALL the OTHER contests only have 2 rounds, then it makes sense to have just 2 rounds for the dunks.
