I don't get why people seem to think Dwight or DWill would sign an extension here. Not down to give up our team for a rental.

The Pacers could move David West and George Hill to the Lake show for Pau and make both teams substantially better. Especially if they then flipped Granger for Martin.

    Collison
    Martin
    George
    Hibbert
    Gasol

    Hill
    Kobe
    Barnes/Artest
    Bynum
    West

    Both teams very nice

Then we got Granger to package with Scola, Dally, and Lowry for Dwight and Hedo.

Except again there is no f***ing way Dwight signs an extension with us after our whole team is exploded. NJ will hold onto D-Will then Dwight will go join D-Will in New Jersey. You seem to have unrealistic ideas of how much superstars actually want to play here.

I figure the only way we can convince Howard and D-Will to sign an extension here is to trade for them both, not just one of them. That means you can't trade the whole damn team for just Howard.

You can trade Lowry, Martin, Dally, and Scola for Dwight. You take on Hedo and other trash but leave enough cap space to sign DWill outright. Then you trade for DWill for Dragic, expirings, and a youngster (Patterson) and picks. Dragic isn't garbage. And NJ either does the deal or watches DWill walk.

We can trade plenty for Dwight but probably actually don't have to if the Lakers don't offer up Bynum and Gasol or the Clips don't offer up both Blake and Deandre. If those two teams don't offer up both of their blue chip bigs for Dwight then we have just as good a chance of trading for Dwight as anybody else and we are in a position to take the risk of trading for him without any guarantee from him of signing an extension. What matters is if Otis decides to trade him. Of Otis decides to trade him, we are in the running.

If you were a GM what would you give up for that foursome? I'm guessing not much.

Would you be content with 2nd round picks?

In the immortal words of John McEnroe, "You cannot be serious".

We're talking about the best center in the league.

A perennial All-Star with a talent set that the NBA sees maybe once or twice in a decade and you think somehow he can be had with a "dog's breakfast" of steady eddies and a nice little point guard who's turned in about a season and a half's worth of stellar play.

You're not even willing to entertain putting any of the recent prospects (Patterson, Morris etc) on the table or any draft picks. Just the spare parts that you would concede the Rockets could dispense with and Kyle Lowry. Oh I'm sorry and Granger. I'm sure that's the deal maker.

Is this how you think trades get formulated in the NBA?

And to top it off you've managed to somehow rationalize Dwight's wanting to come to Houston when he hasn't even identified the Rockets as a destination he'd be interested in.

    Too funny.

I'm not going to respond to any more of your posts after this. If you go back through my posting history, you will see that I have proposed trades with plenty of different of options for Orlando to choose from. We can basically offer Orlando anything they want...steady eddies, young talent, picks, expirings and cap relief, in any combination that they choose....so long as we still have enough cap space left over to sign DWill outright in the offseason.

I have not rationalized Dwight wanting to come to Houston. I have never said one time anywhere that he wants to come to Houston. I have said he wants to play with DWill on a winning team that is competing for championships and we would fit that bill with both him and DWill on the roster.

Go back through my posts and choke on them rook.

Of course there is a lot of room between a Washington 2nd round pick and a OKC 2nd rounder. I notice you use the plural. I think a couple of second rounders is about the trade value of this group.

My main point is, people keep saying trade these guys or proposing trades with them, and I just don't think anybody is beating a path to our door. At best they are throw ins and expirings.

That said, I'm a 'devil you know rather than a devil you don't know' sort of guy so I'd probably just hang on to them and see if anybody picks up (and gives us the next Linsanity story!!).

    ...

Denver has been playing without their 3 best players for a while now. They'll be back and they'll retake home court.

You realize that much less talent than what he's proposing was agreed to be traded away for the best PG in the league a few months ago right? Lowry and Granger are better pieces than anything NOH was getting in that trade.

    Stop talking.

Sorry but we have no trades this year, waiting all on draft picks.

Yeah, the result was no trade because the recipient of the Houston assets felt that they were insufficient. Do better!

I dont like the chances of Dwight or D-will aint coming to H-Town. I dont think we will get Gasol either unless LA gets Dwight and that's not happening.

Bogut or Kaman is much more realistic for us. If they dont work out try flip Scola+2009 busts for Marvin Williams plus Chris Anderson.

Dwight Howard and Deron Williams are not coming to Houston. Gasol probably isn't either. Houston IS NOT a big media environment. Those guys have big egos and need limelight. They won't trade Kyle Lowry. Morey will do something unexpected (look at his history).

Look for the 09ers to disappear. Maybe get a 2nd tier star or draft picks.

All the talk about Howard and Williams is FANtasy. Wake up people!
