I doubt New Jersey winds up with a top 5 pick if they nab Howard at the deadline. They could get close to .500 by the end of the season... playoffs would even be a possibility. And is Marshon Brooks that much better than a guy like Patterson?
We need to get Pekovic. His trade value is high, but we may still be able to nab him. It's possible that we can send martin, hill, and take on a bad contract to get him (NOT brad miller).
Kevin Garnett instantly makes us a better team. I wouldn't mortgage the future for him, but if the price is right...I would love it. Secondly, we ARE no better than the 8th best team in the Conference. Retooling would be a good idea. Not suggesting a total rebuild...just a little retooling.
Daryl Morey is going to have to hit a home run with a mid-1st Round pick if he wants to field a real contender in Houston. Either that, or make an aggressive move to get us high in the lottery so we can get Harrison Barnes or Jared Sullinger, etc... Difference maker is the name of the game. we dont have one. Since he's been here, DM has made a deal at every trade deadline, but we've managed to stay an average team. He hasn't HIT on a single 1st Round pick....so I dont think I'm out of bounds for being critical of him.
Lets try to get Kaman and call it a day....All we really need is a servicable BIG and we are a pretty good team as constructed.Personally im tired of reading all these wild eyed trades.I think a minor upgrade that will yield a major improvement is in the works....A trade for a big like kaman makes us a better team and will probably net us a few more wins/playoffs. Not to mention he can be used in a trade scenerio to attain a true star...all this without giving up much to N.O....maybe a player or two + picks but nothing too serious or messing with our starting 5. Thoughts..... Lowry Martin Scola Kaman Dale Thoughts.......??
Here's a three way HOU/BOS/LAL trade I'd 'maybe' be open to making if picks are involved... [rquoter]Houston receives: PF/C Pau Gasol, PG/SG Avery Bradley, 2012 LA pick and 2012 Bos pick. Boston receives: PG Kyle Lowry, PG Jonny Flynn and C Hasheem Thabeet LA Lakers receive: PG Rajon Rondo and PF Luis Scola[/rquoter] Remaining Roster: Solid Playoff team. Dragic / Bradley Martin / Lee Parsons / Budinger Gasol / Patterson Dalembert / Smith/J.Hill *could package the picks to move up in the draft to select a young big like Illinois C Meyers Leonard
Yeah but... this is it... we would need to sign d-leaguers and stuff to make up for the lack of players.
Nope. In that trade scenario, we'd still have Dragic, Twill, Parsons, Dalembert, and Greg Smith to come off the bench. That kind of bench, though not as good of a bench as we have now, wouldn't be too bad.
Do y'all think Paul George is available? He's pretty similar to Granger and would be easier to trade IMO. What do y'all think it would take to get him? I'd do: Martin/Parsons/Hill/Gragic For George/G.Hill
Wow really is George really worth all that? I get he's young and on a rookie contract but man that's giving up three starting caliber players for one. I think Parsons has more potential than people give him credit for, too.
That may be too much, didn't put a ton of thought into it. But I think George is a future superstar... His length and playing style reminds me of Tmac.
I like his potential too, I would do it for Martin + Dragic + the Knicks pick but I really want to hold onto Parsons.
I added him because I think Morris eventally feel that starting spot. After that trade our lineup would probably be: Lowry/G.Hill George or Lee/Bud Morris or George/Bud Scola/Pat Daly/Smith
