and the repurcussions of their folly have us free falling all the way to...5th best record in the West...

seriously, just let the Lin thing die...we get it...

back to the topic, I am still excited about morris. there is going to be some serious roster turnover by the start of next season, so he will get his chance to shine soon enough.

I'd like to see Morris in the game too. However, since we're doing pretty well, I don't see him being put in a game unless it's a blowout. If we start going on a losing streak, then I'm sure McHale may try to tweak it up and then give him more minutes to see what he can bring.

McHale is probably a racist that likes to play white players over black players.

You mean the Jeremy Lin that spent almost all of last season and the first few months of this year in the D-League polishing up his game? Yeah, his game really suffered from not being given a "chance".

They were pretty good at identifying the talent in DeAndre Jordan, Pekovic, Rudy Gay, and DeJuan Blair in addition to Jeremy Lin.

    In Morey we trust.

None of those are stars in this league.... arguably Lin in those 10 games. Others have been playing well... take my hat off with that said.

Pek and Lin could become stars, they're playing like stars in a small sample size. But you're right they haven't proven they are stars yet. None of those other guys are or will ever be star players.

Chase's defense is the worst and he's managed to get out there. Mchale not playing Morris is pure ignorance

He may be able to do a decent job at the 4,he is certainly not ready to play at the 3 spot. Good post.

If you are capable of finding a GM who nail all their 2nd round picks and undrafted FAs, please tell Les Alexander so he can fire Morey and hire this guy.

Rudy Gay is a star and better than Battier. Face it, management has trouble identifying talent. They are choosing Battier instead of Gay, Jeff Adrien instead of Lin, Joey Dorsey instead of Pekovic and DeAndre Jordan. Just maybe they are screwing up with Morris. Maybe he ends up being a star like Rudy Gay, or just a great player like Jeremy Lin, Pekovic or DeAndre Jordan. It's certainly better than the Joey Dorseys, Jeff Adriens, Shane Battier, and Mike Harris types that keep them in the late lottery pick or 1st round fodder status.

The cool thing is that they could have been traded for better stuff, if Morey was such a great GM. How many teams are looking for Rudy Gay, Jeremy Lin, or a 7 ft center that can drop 30 pts 12 rebs 3 stls and 3 blocks on the Rockets? That's better than Dorsey, Adrien, or Battier. Maybe Marcus Morris is good, but the Rockets are wrong again here too.

Maybe they lose Morris and he gets some minutes somewhere else and succeeds. Then, Rocket fans can say "Oh well Morey lost another one. He can't win them all. Morey knew he would be good, but who knew he would be that good",

Please, please tell us which GM can make this team a championship team by hitting all his personnel decisions. I am a die-hard Rockets fan and I would love to have us win a championship next year.

So enough of the internet tough talk. Just tell us the guy you want running the Rockets, and I will personally do everything in my admittedly limited power to get the entire clutchfans to petition Les to hire this guy.

We definitely could use someone who never make mistakes in personnel decisions. Said person would be a million times better than Morey. But you can't keep this awesome GM a secret. You have to share with the rest of us so said person can do his magic with the Rockets.

I like what the Spurs have done with their late picks and trades.

Yeah, but the Spurs didn't draft Jordan despite needing a center to backup Duncan for a while now. They didn't pick up Lin when they traded away Hill and need to backup Parker. They didn't get Pekovic. They drafted Leonard at #15 when they could've had his clone in the 2nd round with Parsons.

You betrayed my expectations. I thought you knew of someone who can get all these players. Instead you spoke of a team who lucked into Duncan, had two awesome late picks in Parker and Manu, and hasn't gotten a single allstar since. That's craptacular management quite frankly.

How do you know they didn't make a waiver claim for Lin, after Hill was traded? Rockets win by having a worst record. They had great pickups in Tony Parker, Ginobili, DeJuan Blair, George Hill, Luis Scola, etc.

Spurs have kicked Morey's butt if you are judging by the number of stars and starters. Even if you discount the all-stars, they got players that became legit starters like Blair and Scola.

None of Morey's picks are starting except Parsons. Can Morey get at least 2 starters from the draft after his 10 or so picks that he has had?

I also like Rich Cho. He got off to a good start with the draft trade.

Can he be right at least 20% of the time? He can do better by rolling dice. At least, there is a one in 6 chance of getting your number.

    Please cut out the trash!

Ok there are so many things wrong with this post. First off, we traded for Battier to complement Tmac and Yao as the shooter and the perimeter defender. And to not say he helped out the Rockets a lot is just blasphemous. Do people forget how he outplayed Kobe in the playoffs in 08-09? Do people forget he was considered the missing championship piece we needed? Injuries to Tmac and Yao killed our championship bids.

Second, like somebody else said, name ONE gm that has nailed many 2nd rounders at all There is nobody. Lowry used to be on the Memphis bench, and Morey scouted him and aquired him. Scola was on the bench for SA behind Duncan and Morey got him. I would have to say Morey is a good talent evaluator. Chandler Parsons and Budinger were both 2nd round, and Greg Smith is even looking pretty formidable.

Third, we did not sign Jeremy Lin because we already had 3 GUARENTEED CONTRACTS.

Fourth: And why oh why are they supposedly screwing up with Morris? Because he is in a position change? Because he is in the D-League? He has the potential to be great at the 3, but just average at the 4. That is why he is changing positions. Let me remind you that Patterson, Brooks, Lowry, Landry, and now Morris have all spent time in the D-League and it is nothing new. Parsons is playing some gosh darn good defense, and has deservedly won the starting spot. Morris still needs to work on defense. If Morris deserves to play, he will prove it in practice like Parsons did and TWill did not.
