Is Obama going to be re-elected if gasoline prices is higher than ever? That alone will pinch a lot of working middle class who are living paycheck to paycheck. Just imagine the working poor, something gots to give. Maybe if the govt, will stop adding the additional tax on gasoline around .38 cents per gallon and the state .18 cents per gallon, that will surely provide some relief to the american people. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I won't pull a basso.

The GOP should just tank for a high draft pick at this point.

If Ted Cruz is the Republican's top prospect, then they've mismanaged their farm even more than the Astros have.

There are far bigger issues on the table, and most people have the good sense to know Presidents don't affect gas prices.

Because gas prices are the reason to choose a president? I'm not saying people don't react to this stuff, but ... not what I'd base my vote on, unless the president was doing something all by himself to cause a huge and enduring price increase.

Prices swing... it got as high as $4.40 avg. / gal and was as low as $1.60 or so, depending on who you listen to, all under W. While policies and platforms might cause things to change some, I think most of it is independent of who is president, generally speaking.

I'm willing to bet that US foreign policy, which is the President's primary responsibility and power, has an effect upon gas prices.

I could see him as a future VP candidate. Cuban American who combats discrimination, strong conservative values, highly educated, state's rights advocate, and has one of the most powerful voices I have ever head.

I don't agree with him on Social issues but he has me on most other issues.

That Ford Field thing is so fake, right? It's just a mic check or some stupid thing.

That's got to be a mic check. There were people sitting in the chairs in the photos I saw. But, it was a pretty sparse crowd.

If the current source of Middle East uncertainty driving up oil prices is the pressure the US is trying to put on Iran to deter their nuclear project, I don't see how switching presidents (except perhaps to Ron Paul) is going to help gas prices. Which candidate is criticizing Obama for being too hard on Iran? Which candidate is promising to de-escalate confrontation with Iran? Or, do you think an outright war -- like Romney has been intimating -- will drive prices down?

Domestic drilling has expanded dramatically under Obama.
