Billy Gardell (Mike and Molly) is a good guy. He was doing a standup here a few years back he sat down with our group for about an hour or so after the show was done.. Bob Knight- My than GF and I ran into him at the Lubbock airport. Talked for a few and was happy to take a picture with us.. Kliff Kingsbury- Met him for a bit at a club on Washington chatted with him about Tech for about 10 minutes or so... Ethan Hawke- Met him in a FT worth steakhouse. We were pre-drinking for a 21st bday he bought a round of shots but didnt drink himself.. I've seen athletes/celebs at the bars/clubs but say nothing more than whats up ___________...Cant really tell if theyre friendly or not..
Agreed 100%. Jose Lima was such a good guy. I remember when I was younger, he would just sit on top of the dugout, shoot the sh-- with everyone and sign tons of autographs. Just seemed like a really down to earth, nice guy.
I second that. I met Marbury years ago when he played for the Suns. One of the nicest guys I have ever met. Took the time to take a photo and talk about the NBA and video games with me.
When I was a junior golfer, I caddied in the pro-am at the SHO, and Justin Rose took the time to talk with each one of the juniors for a few holes. He seemed pretty cool, and genuinely seemed interested in what I had to say. I guess it was a good time to talk with having so much free time between all the hacks he was playing with.
no one to really add, but just a thought: i really think it depends on when you run into a "celeb". everyone has their bad days, sometimes they're just going to be in a ****ty mood and might not want to talk to people. problem being it can cause them to leave people with the impression they're assholes. hard to get rid of that first impression, especially when some of those same people will always have that impression of them for instance someone mentioned bob knight earlier, i'm sure theres more than a few people who have probably met him and had totally different experiences. anyways, cool to hear someone knows someone who works on the office.
NeNe I have known his wife's family for years. I had Thanksgiving dinner twice with the family. If you ever want to be inspired about stories of poverty and medical pain (cancer), he is great. Very friendly, crazy laugh and loves cracking jokes. Kelis--I met her in Vegas at the pool. Nobody recognized her, but I'm a hip hop/rnb head, so I did. She's very down to earth, despite the songs and lifestyle. We had a drink before she had some event. I was heavily intoxicated. Sebastian Telfair I met him at a Best Buy here in Phoenix. Again, nobody knew him, but I wanted to see what was good. He actually thanked me for shaking his hand...different. Ja Rule --3 years ago in San Diego. He was shooting a commerical for something in Brazil and stepped out of a Burger joint. He was cool with taking pictures and asking what we were doing in Cali. I've been a loyal fan for years, because I think he paved the way for the "hip pop" era we have now (Drake, Big Sean, Wayne, 50 etc..) Managed to keep going after everyone jumped on the Curtis bandwagon Plus, lyrically, he's better than most and he writes his own stuff. PIL2 drops Tuesday /end rant. Shannon Osbourne-- Just a silly lady. Katt Williams-- had good tickets during his epic show in Phoenix. He lost it with a heckler and sent all of the Mexicans/Latinos into an uproar. After, I got an autograph and a picture and he wished me and the lady continued success and was thankful for us coming to watch. Unfriendly: Kenyon Martin, Gucci Mane

Shaq- Met him when I was about 13 years old. He shook my hand and I was speechless but he talked to me and asked me where I was from. Also told me he had a house in Sugarland. Clyde Drexler- Very cool down the earth guy. Will take the time to shake your hand and say whats up. Jimmy Butler- He used to play basketball at 24 hour fitness at 249 and Jones when he was still at Tyler Junior College and Marquette. Played on his team a couple times and he made everything look so easy. Tracy McGrady- Sat behind the bench, at a Rockets game when he was still on the team. He told my buddy to shut the **** up. It probably didnt help that we were quite drunk and but we were just telling him to bring it.
A lot of times it depends on how you meet the person. Through my job I have had dealings with Bill Murray and Jack Nicholson. Both were very nice and the second or third time I saw them through business they actually initiated the conversation. However I saw both of them treat over zealous fans like garbage. Bjorn Borg was the same way. Charles Barkley and John Lucas both were extremely nice and friendly. Early in his career Francis was as well. A lot of the famous people were fine, not good or bad, just normal. Tiger Woods was terrible... So was MMA fighter Tito Ortiz..

Being stuck at the airport sucks, but when I went up to go to talk to him he smiled and shook my hand and took a few minutes to talk. Real different from the persona, which I expected, but he really was a genuinely nice guy. One of the best celebrity meetings I've had. Les Alexander - Met him at a random San Diego restaurant when I was visiting the girlfriend. He saw me wearing a Rockets hat and came over to our table to talk. He was there with his family, who all seemed pretty down to earth. This is the only time that I have ever been "starstruck" and really would have liked to say a lot more, but he was damn friendly.
i actually helped clyde drexler with transactions at the bank i worked at in 2008, he was a total dick to everybody that worked there. he had really nice cars, if that counts. juwan howard, banked there too, he was a really nice.

Calvin Murphy has always been cool as hell. Z-Bo offered to buy me a shot at the club and talked to me about basketball while ignoring the girl he was with. Vince Young was really friendly when I met him. Rashard Lewis was a real cool dude too, especially when he found out we were from Houston. The same with Stephen Jackson when I told him I was from Texas. He actually went out of his way to talk with us, takes pictures, and even invited me and a friend to chill with his crew at the pool at Aria in Vegas. Al Harrington was so happy that somebody actually recognized him that he hung out with us for a while just talking about hoops, Vegas, and women. He couldn't stop giving us dap. You should've seen the smile on his face, lol. Dream was a real nice guy even though he was in rush when we met him. I don't know if Cornel West counts as a celebrity, but I said hi because I recognized him and he then approached me to introduce himself and shook my hand. We talked about socioeconomic issues for a good 5 mins before he had to go. Very down to earth and laid back guy.
-Hakeem Olajuwon My grandfather was very elderly when he was trying to take a couple bags of rice from his car into the neighborhood mosque's kitchen. Out of nowhere, the Dream swooped into the parking lot and carried all the bags for him. He was extremely gracious and friendly, just an overall good person. I've ended up praying next to him a couple times, and he always shook my hand at the end. -Gene Hackman He held the elevator door for me even though I was quite some distance away, and you could tell he was in a hurry.
Nicest musician celebrity I ever met was Brian Setzer from the Stray Cats. When I met him, we spent an hour and a half together talking about nothing but guitars and cars. Nicest athlete celebrities I ever met were Calvin Murphy, Robert Reed, and Rudy Tomjanovich.
