    Ok....

So you say Lakers will want star power back for Gasol, but at the same time you say Gasol is not worth star power. So doesn't that mean that most likely IF the Lakers DO want to move gasol...they will probably NOT get star power in return?

I think they know this by now. No one in the market will give up any star power for Gasol, **** we wont even think about giving up Lowry.

The most the Lakers can hope for are really great role players to support Kobe, and for Bynum to take that next step.

because our role players are alot better than the lakers role players. people actually know who are 10th 11th and 12th men on our roster are. nobody knows who Andrew Goudelock, and darius morris is, but they know who t-will and johnny flynn are.

    Let me clarify.

The Rocket's star is Kyle Lowry, and it may well be that Morey's opinion is that Lowry has more star power than Gasol.

But what I've been reading is that Gasol can command star power in return. Whether it's from the Rockets or someone else and whether it's at the trade deadline or after the season.

That's what the Lakers are expecting, that's what Kobe is expecting, and that's what the Laker fanbase is expecting.

Dont want Gasol. He is some over the hill player for potentially two solid starters and one good backup point guard on the Rockets. Rockets have nearly the same record as the Lakers with these guys playing major roles. Whether they think they want Lowry the best player on the team is irrelevant. Right now he is worth more than Gasol because of his age and production on a winning team. As the leader of that winning team for 2 years straight.

Yes. You got that right. Lowry is worth more than Gasol currently.

I think you are a bit confused or misinformed.

Lowry is not giong to be part of the deal no matter what.

There is only 1 starter in this deal, Luis Scola.
Morris, Budinger, Dragic all come off the bench.

and did you just call Pau Gasol "some over the hill player" ???
lol... should we even take you seriously?

According to whom? What I've seen and heard is that there will be no deal with the Lakers for Gasol that doesn't include Lowry.

Actually, Scola's last season is only partially guaranteed, I think for $1.5 million, but I couldn't tell you where I read that. The number could be off either way. It would bother me to not have seen Morris in action for any time worth mentioning, I've really grown to like Dragic and wish we could resign him (and yes, it's very unlikely), and it would be a shame to lose Chase and Morris. I'm one of Scola's biggest fans, so that would bum me out, but Gasol is a clear upgrade.

I don't know... we're winning more than we lose. Is it smart for the team in the long run? Shouldn't we be looking to get younger and more athletic inside? I really wish Gasol were a couple of years younger. And we'd have to take back more than Gasol if we're shipping out 4 players. Who would that be? Mixed feelings.

I believe those are characterized as "unlikely to meet" conditions under the collective bargaining agreement. Probably having to do with the team advancing in the playoffs with Scola playing X number of minutes. Morey has said he doesn't like incentive clauses associated with box-score stats-- motivating players to stuff empty stat.

So, in other words, he's signed for two more years, with conditions that would take a miracle to meet to get that third season. Knowing Morey, one of the conditions is that Luis average 2 blocks per game.

IIRC they Scola's bonuses are team-related. As in if the Rockets win the championship or win 60 games and that sorts. Not the type where Scola can be an a-hole and go for certain stats over playing regularly.
