We always make an irrelevant late run after the all-star break....I normally wouldn't nit-pick but since he goes out of his way to act like it is common knowledge that we are in it and then fade at the end, I felt compelled. He literally has zero sources, other than watching basketball and dreaming scenarios up.
I don't believe I've ever seen a Bill Ingram "prediction" or "sources" ever came true. Which is surprising, because you'd think a few of them should come true just by sheer accident over the years.
If Kevin Martin wants to get a contract anywhere close to what he currently has, he needs to play well outside of Rick's offense. That is all the motivation that he needs.
Its from "Hoopsworld".... enough said. Sheridan should be ashamed of himself for posting that made up crap on his website.
Martin, who averages 19.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists, has often been considered but never selected, possibly because he has not played for winning teams. Having often been described as a worthy candidate without ever earning the honor, he said it is no longer a goal for him. “In my journey, people always say it’s about numbers, but early in the season, my teams haven’t been winning,” he said. “Now, both of them are there. I’m more satisfied … with team success. We’re chasing the playoffs and trying to do damage that way. But for anybody to get an All-Star nod, it just shows all the hard work they put in and the year they’re having. “In that sense, it would be worthwhile, but I’m not playing for that. My career, like in (Sacramento), I thought about individual stuff. Now, it’s more about the team aspect, and I’m having a lot more fun now than I did in the past.” http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2012/02/rockets-lowry-martin-harbor-all-star-hopes/
Kevin Martin/Rockets Article NBA@2: Kevin Martin And The Timberwolves? By Bill Ingram It’s not really a secret that Kevin Martin is unhappy in Houston. His minutes have been inconsistent, and he’s heard his name come up multiple times in trade rumors after GM Daryl Morey told him he was untouchable. He also doesn’t appreciate that the Rockets are doing to him what they do to everyone come contract time. No early extension (Martin has one more year on his contract), and a promise to do everything possible to drive down his value to re-sign him as cheaply as possible. Welcome to the club, Kevin. Carl Landry, Aaron Brooks and Kyle Lowry are all charter members. It’s also no secret that Rick Adelman would welcome Martin with open arms, should the Rockets value something from the Timberwolves’ roster worthy of a trade for Martin. To date that connection has not been made, but it’s something that’s slow-cooking on the back burner as the trade deadline inches closer. Sources close to the situation believe the Rockets prefer to keep Courtney Lee, who is a better defender and will ultimately cost the team less money than Martin. Of course, Lee’s camp has asked for a trade after being told there will be no early extension for him, either, and that restricted free agency is likely to be a challenge since the Rockets have a history of scaring away potential suitors for their players. Meanwhile, things are going south quickly for new head coach Kevin McHale, who was popular with his new players at first. The players have gone to McHale on multiple occasions suggesting that they run particular Rick Adelman plays that were very successful last season, but McHale has been unwilling to do anything Adelman did, regardless of the potential success. That hasn’t stopped Adelman’s former charges from running the occasional play from last season, which irks McHale to no end. Yes, the situation in Houston is tenuous, to say the least. To their credit, the players are still going out every night and giving it their all, and they are very much in the playoff discussion as we head into the All-Star break. Then again, that’s basically where the Rockets have been at the All-Star break every year, before slowly falling behind the pack and just missing the postseason when the final seeds are claimed. So what’s next for the Rockets? Should they go ahead and work out a deal with the Timberwolves and watch as Adelman’s new team takes their playoff spot with Martin in the backcourt with Ricky Rubio? That was the plan last season, when Morey sent Shane Battier to the Memphis Grizzlies for Hasheem Thabeet. Memphis went on to make the playoffs and advance to the second round while Thabeet played in the D-League and the Rockets missed out on the postseason again. That would be pretty hard for Rockets fans to stomach. Link: http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba2-kevin-martin-and-the-timberwolves I usually lurk around on CF, but i'm still not so sure of Bill Ingram's reputation here. Nonetheless, I find it very interesting that McHale is not interested in listening to players on potential working plays. As for the Kevin Martin and Courtney Lee situation, I had no idea it was this bad. Or IS is THIS bad?
I know free press should stand above all but pulling stuff out of your ass like this guy has done? That should be prosecuted.
Kevin Martin and Lowry are the core of this team I am convinced that those two are this teams greatest strength now. They have to keep those two and move others to build around them.
Depends on what for. I would rather Scola be the only one traded. Its only other people asking for both of them at the same time to be let go. I would rather one or the other. Since Scola is older? I would rather it be only Scola and a few parts.
