Listen to the new BS report. Simmons said Rondo has attitude issues and is not really liked. I think he has the supeior talent even with some glaring holes in his game, but the fact that the Celtics don't really like him worries me.
Rondo is marginally better or equal to Lowry at those things but is far far worse in shooting/free throws which is a critical aspect of the game. Lowry is also not the egomaniac diva so I take Lowry.
Guess what.... Kevin G is a punk..... Pierce is an actor..... They cannot choose whom to like or not.
Exactly this. Rondo is a good player but I highly doubt he can lead a not as talented team to victories. Rondo is better for the Celtics and similar teams (as a third/fourth option) and Lowry is better for the Rockets and similar teams (as a first/second option).
Lowry is a true student of the game, a gentleman and a scholar. Remember when Adleman said Lowry would suggest plays in the huddle? Adelman would actually use those plays. Lowry knows his teammates' strengths and weaknesses and gets them the ball where THEY need it. Adelman also compared Lowry to Nash. Now, Lowry is no Nash when it comes to shooting. But I think Kyle can eventually average 90% free throws and 40% on 3's. He's close this year.
Possibly Gortat, Tony Allen. Lowry is the best player under 8 mil probably that is not on a rookie contract. People/players don't seem to get how awesome this is in attempting to get a championship squad. If you don't have guys that are bargains or on rookie scales, the new CBA doesn't allow you to have more than 1~2 max contracts. Look at OKC for instance. Now that Durant and Westbrook's rookie deals are up, they probably have to choose between Harden and Ibaka. Both are vital to the franchise's winning ways. If I was OKC, I keep harden and ibaka and try to trade westbrook for someone like Lowry and change.
Hard to say that when Rondo puts up 14.8ppg on 48.5% shooting "without a jumpshot" and Lowry 15.7ppg on 41.6% shooting.
What does "Lowry ball" have to do with Scola becoming a turnover machine in the post and Martin not drawing cheap fouls as easily? Bud isn't any less productive this year when he's on the floor. McHale just doesn't play him the same minutes because he puts more emphasis on consistent defensive effort than Adelman did.
hahahahahhaha, TS% which takes into account Rondo's 25% 3 point % or his 62% FT? What a weak sauce attempt to say that when playing, on the court, with the ball, shooting the ball, while being defended, that Lowry is better than Rondo. It's not even close.
Jesus, are people actually saying that because Lowry shoots freethrows well that makes him a better in game shooter? Really? Really? What next, Jamal Crawford is a top 5 shooter?
If Rondo is better at running an offense, why is Boston ranked 25th in offense and the Rockets 9th? If Rondo is a better passer, why is his team's offense ranked 25th? If Rondo has better court vision, why can't his team benefit from it offensively? We all know the Rockets aren't running Rick's offense anymore - this is the Lowry offense now, and it seems to work A LOT better than Boston's.
He shoots a higher percentage from the 3 as well. Also, yes there is some correlation between good free throw shooting and good in game shooting. There are a lot of good in game shooters who are bad at free throws, but how often do you see a good free throw shooter who can't shoot at all in games?
