So my wife did a u-turn and ran over the median and both right rims were damaged. The front rim damaged more then the rear. The front rim was damaged to the point where air was leaking out between the rim to the tire.

I contacted my local dealership and they ordered me a new rim, and replaced it for me. 3 weeks later, I notice I have to put air in that same tire daily. I finally come to the conclusion the tire has a leak in it. So I take it to my tire shop and they inspect the tire and tell me the tire is fine, but the rim is bent. Something is up since I just spent $350 to replace that once bent-rim.

When I pick my car up, I notice the dealership replaced the rear passenger-side rim instead of the front. After calling the dealership to confirm in their records that the front passenger-side rim was replaced.

What can I expect? Them to give me a free $350 rim and replace the one they should've replaced to begin with? Them trying to make me pay a discounted price? Or what?

Hell yes, get what you paid for. If they screwed up, it's on them. They should also align your car since it's probably out of wack from driving on a bent rim, and if you want to really be precise about it, replace the tire on the bent rim since it's probably worn incorrectly which will decrease it's life.

You have a median in your kitchen?

Oh course you should expect them to fix it. The old rim is obviously gone so they will have to get you a new one. It being a dealership, I don't see any issues/problems because they typically are customer friendly.

just call him and go there. It's hard to take an email too seriously.

Call Luckkky and ask him to round up his asian goons and mob over there and threaten them. Worse case scenario you will get charged more. Best case scenario you might get some puppies out the ordeal.

Go down there and get it done right.

The bad part is that they won't have a rim for the back-right wheel now. They can move your new one up to the front-right, but what do they put on the back-right?

Either way, it's they're fault, and they need to fix it. You're much more likely to illicit an honest response in-person.

Wow, whoever replying to the emails should not be in customer service. Reminds me of that big reddit thread about the video controller the other day

If it is the same dealership where you bought your car, contact your salesman or his manager.

Same dealership. I've also emailed the general manager of the dealership but no response from him yet.

Thing is, this place is 45 minutes away. I lost my job a couple months ago, not really comfortable with forking out money for the gas to go there tomorrow to get this straightened out, and then having to go back a couple days later for them to put the rim on.

Would you rather pay $350 for another rim?

What kind of rim is it anyway? Sounds like they already ripped you off once, $350 for a 16 inch rim, don't let them do it again.

    ! UPDATE !......

Went to the dealership this morning. They took one look at the rims and agreed that the rear rim is the one that is brand new. He insisted they replaced the Front Right rim. He says someone must've switched them.

He offered me a replacement rim for that one at the dealership cost of $220 or he could straighten the damaged rim out with a hammer for free. It was my choice.

After thinking about this for a while,I realized that wasn't good enough. This is their attempt for me to accept this agreement to shut me up. I felt insulted by it. So a couple hours later I go back there and have the general manager of the dealership take a look. The only thing he offered me differently was to cut the price in half for a new rim for $110.

Here is the issue. I had 2 damaged rims. One rim was damaged to the point of a leaky tire. The other rim was bent, but there was nothing wrong with it. It made full contact with the tire. It wasn't polking a hole in the tire and air didn't leak out of that one.

Their claim is, I got what I paid for (new rim) and I'm left with a damaged rim that could have gotten worse over the last 3 weeks and now the tire leaks as a result.

So I back peddle... I go back to the place that checked my tire for any leaks and verified with him that he didn't take the tires/rims off and switch them around. He stated all he did was put the vehicle on the lift, and spray the liquid on the outside of the tire to check for leakage.

So now I go back to the place that originally declined my inspection because of the faulty rim, he takes one look at it and remembers it like it was yesterday, saying that it was the rim that he rejected for the inspection. Not only him, but a state trooper also looked at it and said it wouldn't pass the states requirements for an inspection.

When the dealership is asked about this since they passed my inspection with the current rim, they say the rim is bent but its not bulging into the tire and damaging it... so it's legal.

I want to continue fighting this. I plan on taking this to Nissan's corporate folks and then the local news for a Consumer report type investigation.

One other thing I left out is they claim there is video taken of all the work they do. When I ask the service manager to let me see it, he says a company in another state has the footage. When I asked the dealership manager about this, he states that for some reason the footage is lost of the work being done. Right now this is basically a my word/tire man's word/ first inspection man's word / state troopers word against the Dealerships.

I know this is probably confusing to comprehend but does anyone have any advice for me?

My argument is that I paid to have my damaged rim replaced. They replaced the least-damaged rim which wasn't giving me any trouble. I want that rim back but they've done away with it as scrap metal.

Simple, you want the rim they already destroyed because there wasn't a problem with it ( you obviously can't get that one) or you want a new rim. This is squarely on Nissan here, you having to pay more out of pocket for another rim is a straight insult. I can't believe they didn't try offering you puppies and a couple of oil changes.

What they are saying, is they replaced the one I wanted them to replace. The one that is on my car that is messed up now is the secondary rim that was bent, that someone switched to the front of the car.

Like I said, its their word against mine at this point even though I have all this "evidence" im not sure if its concrete enough

you have to take some responsibility for not checking their work. When you leave you're basically accepting their work as done and complete. There's probably even something in writing, in fine print, in their work order you signed (assuming there is one). Taking that into consideration, going further with this may not be the best thing.

Why did you go to the dealer for inspection after failing it elsewhere?
