How good would this team be right now with a healthy Yao?

Without taking any pieces off this team except Johnny Flynn, where would this team be if Yao was healthy and playing?

In my opinion, we would be right up there with the Thunder in record and poised to compete for top seed in the West with enough spare parts to make a trade to put us over the top. A healthy Yao is the best center in the West and (in my opinion) with his offensive skillset the best center in the NBA.

No, this is not a thinly disguised "trade for Gasol" thread since I really want to trade for Dwight anyways. I just wished Dwight could see it. You drop him on this current roster and we are championship contenders.

Without a big time post player, we are a lottery team. With a healthy Yao and this current team, we push past everybody in the West and are duking it out in the Finals with most likely Miami or Chicago.

Screw Jordan, how about Bowie, Drexler, and Olajuwon. Now there's a team.

Yao never had a PG at Lowry's current level to get him the ball. Just thinking of the possibilities makes me sad.

I will do one better: this team with Yao and T-Mac (circa 2005).

    Yao
    T-Mac
    Lowry
    Parsons
    Scola

It would have been the Best team in the West, no question about. Dang, the bb Gods hate us.

    If you play this game....
    Yao 2005
    Tmac 2001
Lowry now or one year later
    Parsons one year later
    Motiejunas 2 years from now

I miss that 2009 playoff team so much. That was our toughest squad

He had plenty of guys who were capable of getting him the ball.

The problem was never finding somebody capable of getting him the ball, the problem was him bobbling it or dropping it or missing it when it got to him, due to his physical limitations.

Thank you. Yao played with Bobby Sura(greatest pass), Rafer Alston(good passer), TMac(great passer), Jon Barry and Even Brooks.

This team would be right up there with OKC in the standings and a legit shot at the Finals. We already know this.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda.....A Rocket's motto. The team never really surrounded Yao with the right role players when he was healthy. They finally got the right set after he was gone. Timing is everything and this organization seems always out of sync, a day late, a dollar short. Think about it.

    I would like to see:
    Lowry/K. Smith/Maloney
    Drexler/V. Maxwell
    Horry/Battier
    O. Thorpe/Scola/Hayes
    Olajuwon/Yao
