I love this, and its completely true. Lowry has positioned himself as one of the best PGs in the league, despite not making the All-Star game. He continues to improve and is starting to put this team on his back to end games. He is quikly becoming our team leader over Scola. Dragic has improved his worth so much coming off the bench as-well that his value is plenty for the lakers to accept. Sure lakers want an borderline all-star player, but it doesn't look likely. If they were to recieve 2 solid starters(Scola and Dragic) along with a solid bench scorer in Chase Budinger and possiblyThabeet for filler/expiring. I could see them pulling the trigger.

Pau Gasol has established himself over the years as an elite center. But the centers of today aren't on par as the centers of yesteryear. So being an elite center doesn't mean game changer as it did in the past.

All things being equal, Lowry provides more as a near all-star, than Gasol could offer the Rockets.

If the Rockets could acquire Gasol, without trading Lowry, I'm for it. But getting rid of Lowry in a trade is counter productive.

I could handle a pouting Gasol with Lowry around to kick him in the ass, but trading Lowry means that a mope-y Pau would pair up with sulky Martin and on-the-rag Williams. No thanks.

remember when the rockets traded for lowry while giving up rafer! and brian cook all the morey haters were out in full force demanding he get fired... remember when later he traded tmac (the one who is still complaining and telling people he is back to being the same old tmac) for martin, hill and a first round pick people said morey got ripped off .. just bring them up bc both of those players have been brought up in trade talks and oh morey actually has made some pretty awesome moves

Don't worry. I haven't looked, won't look, and won't see them at all in a moment.

You're delusional if you think we'd be better off in that trade. Dragic is NOWHERE near the complete player Lowry is. Also, Gasol is barely an upgrade over Scola. You're essentially giving up you're best overall player (Lowry) and hardest working player in Scola for a center who doesnt have half the heart or effort of both of those guys.

    CONCLUSION: TERRIBLE TRADE:mad:

I wouldn't say arrogant, seems like any typical fan wanting to trade a player for a player with more value. At least it seems like people are giving Lowry respect and noticing his play.

The Laker fans aren't nuts, they are just typical fans. A somewhat spoiled bunch. Heck in the manner they got Gasol in the first place, they'd expect to get all-stars for their end of the bench guys. That's why they want Scola and Lowry for Gasol.

But Lowry for Gasol favors the Lakers way too much.

And Dragic + Scola for Gasol fovors the Rockets way too much.

But ehhh, that's why no trade has been done. Both GM's are looking out for their teams best interests.

Soo, why didn't we keep Lin and trade Lowry for Gasol? Any explanation for that?

    Lin, Dragic
    Martin, Lee
    Parsons, Bud, T-Will
    Gasol, Scola
    Dalembert/Nene, Hill

Scola + Dragic + Budinger, maybe. Do the Lakers have any real scorer off the bench, or any halfway decent SFs for that matter? (Barnes is trash.) Still, GMs are always hesitant to make these kinds of three-for-one deals, and for good reason. All-stars are a lot harder to come by than roleplayers. That's why I think our best chance to pry away Gasol is another three team deal, possibly involving Steve Nash.

Because before the season KLow's value was not as high as it is now.
Besides.... Lin and Dragic mean TO fest.

Glad to hear Morey is on the same page as I am :)

But seriously, it's great to hear that he's not completely 100% ready to continue wheeling and dealing assets. Glad there is a line there and he's not crossing it.
